Went here for specials at the bar on a Thursday night.
DECOR: Bar is in the basement, very small and a little cramped. It's nice though, a homey feel to it. Had wood walls, floors and tables. White lights were strung up on the walls.
DRINKS: I only ordered Rum Buckets here but they were great!! They were tiny little pales filled with jungle juice and had gummy bears on the bottom of the pale underneath the juice and ice. Were about 3$ until I think 10 or 11pm. Definitely a cheap, delicious way to have a good night with your friends.
SERVICE: Took around 10 minutes just for the bartender to get me 1 drink, but it was very busy so I wasn't that annoyed.
I'm giving it 4 stars. I've never had a bad experience in the many many nights I've gone to The Knot. The hamburgers are always reasonable and the service is better than any of the dives in Durham. The Knot is not a dive. Sure, it has no windows but it's quaint. The prices are reasonable they run appetizer specials regularly. It sucks to go there if you don't know anybody because it's full of UNH cliques.
