I've been twice now, and have been impressed both times.  The Brie appetizer is creamy smooth. The ribeye was a monster and had great flavor.  The pork loin was moist and flavorful.  The white chocolate bread pudding was amazing.  Service could be a little better, but definitely on my list of places to go back to.

I have been to LA Cafe a couple of times and the food and service have been excellent.  I love how the menu items change frequently and the variety they offer.  I would highly recommend this quaint cafe to anyone and have.

Went for 1/2 price wine night. Nothing spectacular on the wine list--only overpriced stuff you can get at Kroger. The bread was spectacular, service horrible. My blackened salmon was not really blackened, only some Cajun seasoning. I order the vegetable of the day-broccoli cauliflower mix topped with blue cheese, however it came soggy, limp and with some yellow cheese sauce that tasted like a powdered cheese sauce--very disappointing. Other meals ordered were very good, pork loin and creamy pesto fettuccini. Overall, decent but not worthy of another trip.

Great food and fantastic service!  You will not be disappointed!  They serve prime rib on Fridays and Saturdays and Tuesdays they have a wonderful steak special.  They also offer buy one get one free shrimp cocktail on Tuesdays and watch out for the cocktail sauce....it's hot!!!

We dined at this restaurant this past weekend and we were disappointed. The service was ok. There was not a bartender working the bar so we had to wait a while for our drinks. I ordered the prime rib, I received a sirloin, which was good and cooked as I ordered it, but the server had no clue that my meal was not what I ordered. My husband ordered the mahi mahi blackened. It was over cooked to the point my husband had to use a knife to cut it. He finally sent it back and received another over cooked Mahi Mahi. The mashed potatoes and baked potato were both good. The atmosphere was ok. We ordered dessert, the cheesecake, it was ok. I would not return or recommend this place to anyone. The meal was overpriced for the area, service and more importantly for the quality of food

A friend and I were town for a wedding at the Lumiere in nearby Lebanon. I googled for a restaurant an this place came up. After driving through a couple cornfields and a very slim borderline dirt roads we found LA Cafe. lt was like a mirage in the middle of the desert. Full bar and great staff. Limited Menu especially for a pescatarian like me. Not one fish item. So I had an amazing cup of french onion soup and a Ceaser salad. It was the bartenders first day bartending ever. She was very polite but unacknowledged about drinks. my friend ordered a Washington apple and it was pure booze. I ordered Kettle and cran. It was all Cran....At least she tried. Brunch is probably amazing there based on the setup I saw.  Nice hometown experience.

Our neighborhood L.A. Cafe has since found another new owner, and to be fair, we haven't eaten there in about the last 10-11 months.  We tried its newest reincarnation a couple times, but the food didn't do much for us, although the portions were huge.  Perhaps someone else had a better experience and maybe it's improved since, but it's been hard to persuade ourselves to go back.  Old L.A. Cafe, we miss you!

Recently reopened under new ownership. Now has candlelit tables with white linen tablecloths, outdoor patio, artwork, very attentive friendly service, and upscale menu options. Lunch menu is mostly sandwiches for $6+ that include your choice of side. Dinner menu is a few sandwiches for $10 (includes salad and side) and entrees for $13-$25. The food is very good. It is all fresh ingredients from local farms, and you can taste the difference. I've never had such fresh chicken breasts. The pork tenderloin was good but a little overcooked for medium. Fresh homemade salad dressings are great. The only thing missing was bread with the meal. Will definitely return. Probably the best restaurant in Boone county outside of Zionsville, so definitely worth a stop if you're traveling along I65 (take Whitestown exit north to 300S, turn right then 2 miles to "downtown" Whitestown - watch the speed limits) or looking for decent food northwest of Zionsville.
