I hit the friendly one or twice a week. The wings are the best I've had. Broasted not fried. Black and blue steak is a bargain. If you don't get there by 11:45 am you'll be waiting at the door. If you're looking for low fat healthy fofo food keep looking. It's bar fare at it's finest. St. Patty's day party is one of the best.
Review Source:After a very poor experience at the nearby Noah Grant's, we came to Friendly Tavern for a late night dinner. Â Our service was excellent from the time we walked in the door to the time we left. Â The menu was huge and both my husband and I had a great meal, at probably a third of what we would have paid at Noah Grant's.
Review Source:I was told that if you visit Zionsville, you have to try The Friendly.
First thing that threw me off was parking. I approached the friendly going north on Main Street, so I had to pass The Friendly, hang a left, go back south and park in the lot to the south of the restaurant. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of.
We were seated promptly and received our drinks promptly. I ordered the breaded tenderloin with french fries, I don't even remember what my girlfriend ordered... I just remember she was being picky and didn't like the menu as much as I did. LOL.
The only problem on this visit was the service. I put in my order first since my girlfriend was taking a while. Once she did make up her mind, I couldn't find our server to put in her order, which was frustrating. We finally got her order in and my food arrived, everything was good.
The fries were delicious and I couldn't even finish the breaded tenderloin, but it was good as well. I even found a few menu items that I wanted to try on the next visit.
When it was time ago, again, we couldn't find our server. Maybe it was just an off-night for our server or they were in the middle of a shift change. Other than that, I really enjoyed The Friendly. Felt like a nice hometown place, all the staff I saw were pretty awesome. Heck, I didn't even know kids weren't allowed, SCORE! (Quiet meals are always awesome, sorry to those of you with kids.)
Overall, I definitely recommend The Friendly and hope that the service I received (while not poor, just couldn't find her when we needed her) was just a one-time occurrence.
