When you find yourself waiving to the Barista as you drive away with your Mocha... YOU KNOW YOU'RE IN INDIANA!
Thank you, Yelpers for leading me to Bjava! Â I flew back to Indy for my Great-grandmother's funeral and haven't slept much since I landed... It's a nice blend of being alone in this vacation rental and losing the extra hour (making 4hrs) during the whole Spring Forward business!
So I walk into Bjava this morning and I see the Barista chatting it up with a local regular at the counter. Â There is a couple standing there together looking at the menu waiting their turn... and the woman whispered to the guy (loudly) "Let's just go to Starbucks" and they left. Â
The thought crossed my mind too at that moment, honestly. Â The actions of the couple led me to believe they had been waiting forever or something. Â Hmmm. Â But just as my mind began to sort my thoughts about wanting to try this local owned and roasted coffee shop vs just getting that assembly line mocha from Starbucks right down the sidewalk... I heard the Barista say "Ohhhh, you don't wanna ask me any questions about my coffee, you just want to go to Starbucks.... Be my guest" Â or something like that. Â It made me laugh. Â Then, like magic, it was my turn! Â
They were so nice and chatted me up while I made my order. Â Didn't take long at all. Â Fancy foam design & all! Â
I'll be returning for my morning Joe every morning while I'm in town & have already passed along the "You gotta try their coffee!" to a couple of my local friends. Â
Their beans are also available for purchase at a local Hipster grocer!  I highly recommend supporting Bjava!  The roast IS GOOOOOOOD!  You normally can't taste the difference of a roast in a Mocha.  But  - This you can!  Mmmmm
Get in, chat it up, and get on with your day! Â **I saved 10% with my Yelp Check in too!
p.s. - They have Vegan stuff too!
This little shop has become my favorite lunch spot and, when I have the time, I stop for a coffee before work, too. Â The soups are ALWAYS tasty and made with healthy ingredients! Â Paninis and wraps are good, too - excellent turkey and ham. Â Coffee is fab! Â Love the new Salted Caramel Latte. Â Their homemade syrups have spoiled all other coffee shop lattes for me. Â I've also learned a lot and expanded my taste by trying the various "pour-overs" that they offer. Â And then there are the muffins, cookies, and Hamantaschen (during Purim). Â Yum! Â The staff is friendly and so are the folks who frequent the shop. Â I hope B-Java (or Bee Coffee Roasters) is around for many years to come!
Review Source:Once again, the Yelpers didn't let me down. Starbucks gets a bit tired after a while, so I was looking for a more local flavor type of place.
Bjava offered great coffee. When I'm at a place like this I want to get something I can't get anywhere else, and the the honey lavender cappuccino didn't let me down.
One star gets knocked off for the ugly tables in the middle of the cafe and the storage area you have to walk through to get to the bathroom. Also docked for the rude sign in the bathroom. There's a line between quirky/fun and downright rude and the sign in the bathroom was condescending. (Something about not overflowing the toilet.)
Will I return to Bjava? Without a doubt. Great quick service and delicious coffee.
