La nourriture à La Baguette de Normandie est magnifique. Si vous n'avez pas mangé ici, vous devez lui donner un essai.
Translation: (The food at La Baguette de Normandy is magnificent.  If you have not eaten here, you must give it a try.)  A couple years back, someone brought me some pastries from here, and they were quite good.  I had not been back, despite all the positive things I had heard from friends.  The other morning, as I was driving by, I felt the "call to breakfast" (not quite as demanding as the "call of the wild", but strong nonetheless).  I dropped in to have a croque-madame.  A croque-madame is a croque-monsieur served with a poached egg on top.  If that is not helpful enough, then let me explain that a croque-monsieur is a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. This dish originated in French cafés and bars as a quick snack and usually has Gruyère (or Emmental) cheese.  So, when eating a croque-madame, one has a tasty (exotic) grilled ham and cheese with an egg on top.  The one I had this day at La Baguette de Normandy was crispy, creamy, salty, and delicious.  It was served with a side of lettuce and tomatoes (from which one could construct a simple salad complete with dressing on the side).  My egg was cooked perfectly, and I enjoyed this dish very much.
I also had a pain au chocolat (aka chocolate croissant). Â It was very flavorful, flaky, and buttery to the point of almost being greasy. Â My caramel macchiato was a nice accompaniment. Â There are only a few tables inside and they were mostly kept full on my visit. Â The service was good.
Walk into La Baguette de Normandy and you are welcomed by the smell of pastries. Good stuff. We went in for breakfast instead of pastries though. The French Toast was awesome. The omelette and omelette croissant?? Well they left much to be desired. I was disappointed that the omelettes were runny. One basic key in knowing how to properly cook is the preparation of an egg (so I've been told by friends who attended Cordon Bleu). Â The portion size of one of the omelette plates was less than the size of a fist. All of this for a whopping $30 plus a cookie for $4.50. The staff was friendly but I wasn't blown away by the overall experience to rate this place 5 stars.
Review Source:Dare I say the best FRENCH bakery that I know of!!
Joined a fellow Yelper for a morning excursion to La Baguette de Normandy. Â Smelling the fresh bread and baked goods as you enter is intoxicating, inhale slowly. Â
For breakfast we both decided on a Croque Madame which is a French take on a ham and cheese sandwich with a sunny side up egg on top. Â You crack the yolk and it runs evenly over the entire thing coating each bite acting as a dressing - delicious! Â They now serve Espresso drinks as well, top notch if you ask me served in real mugs - none of this paper cup nonsense. Â
Bread looked fresh and smelled even better and they'll slice it to order for you, no pre-sliced stuff here. Â They also offer day old bread and pastries at a discount which is lovely.
Moving on to the pastries. Â I just couldn't help myself, I ordered four pastries to go and then found out that when you buy four you get one free - bonus for me. Â One more and it means the gym for the next two weeks to work off all the calories. Â Fruit tarts, hazelnut praline with meringue, Napoleons, cookies, "the divorce", and everything else I want to try. Â Every fork full is better than the last, beautifully designed and an orgasm in your mouth. Â Everyone should experience the pastries here. Â Customer service is top notch from this super friendly French family, I truly love watching the older man in the back making everything from scratch - now that's homemade.
I will gladly drive 30 minutes out of the way to come here. Â Can't wait to try the fresh made bread.
I love all the pastries and breads. The croissants are moist and flaky at the same time. The meringue is pretty but not as sweet as meringue that I make at home, so I prefer mine.
The folks who run it are nice, but reserved. I have spoken to the man in French and he was very friendly. The lady doesn't initiate banter. I speak exclusively French to my children which I'm sure she overheard, but even so, the lady working there never interrupted or started a dialog with me. I ordered in English because I didn't want to make the assumption that she spoke French (I wasn't sure).
But I'm there for the food not really to practice my French, and I think it's very good.
Damn good sandwiches. Â The baguettes are crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside, just as they're supposed to be. Â French family was working the whole place, kids taking care of the front and mom in the back. Â This place is legit, do yourself a favor and have lunch here, you wont be disappointed unless you're impossible to please.
Review Source:its hidden gem in highlands ranch. Â weekly stop over to satisfy sweet tooth and short trip back to France. Â
the owner is from Normandy (duh) and once you strike up conversation, she is very friendly. Â the day i went in, French language internet radio was on. Â
got great selection, very fresh and reasonable price. Â
Who took all the croissants last Friday? Â darn..
Stopped in recently to get lunch to-go. Â They have a lunch special where you can get your choice of a baguette sandwich, a patisserie, and a beverage and they'll take 10% off. Â In my case I got all three for only $9.60 - very reasonable for the food quality. Â I opted for the ham, brie, and butter baguette sandwich. Â Yum! Â It was a good size too. Â I actually didn't think I would finish it all, but I did since it was so tasty. Â I also opted for the coconut meringue patisserie with butter cream. Â This was almost sugar overload, even for me. Â But, it was delicious. Â It was very difficult to select a patisserie because they all looked heavenly.
I now know where to get lunch whenever I have meetings in the area. Â A French lunch beats fast food options any day!
Great place. Lovely owners and always very sweet and friendly.
More of a bakery than a restaurant. Best bread I've found in the States and because it is baked to French standards (no sugar), it is much better for my blood sugar.
We buy all of our bread here and have also tried many of the pastries. We are also fond of picking up a couple of their French sandwiches when we go - very tasty and not something you can find anywhere else.
Love this place!
I miss the french boulangerie that was near my house when I was growing-up in Tucson, AZ (of all places). This is the closest place I have found that makes an edible napoleon. American bakeries tend to be "over-doers"; If the custard they make tastes good... they slop gobs of it on. A chocolate croissant must have a bar inside, rather than a thin exquisite sliver. And, each pastry must be huge. It's the quality, not the quantity, people!!! I like this place.
Review Source:I'm of French heritage so I have to check out anything that sounds French (I was robbed of learning more about my heritage when I was growing up.) I was with a friend when we first walked in to this bakery.
The lady who runs this place is nice, but I don't think she likes to speak English very much so I try to be as clear with my order as possible. My order, usually being the ham and brie with butter on a baguette, with the combo of a french soda and a patisserie. I can see how this place is a tad bit more expensive than fast food, but then again it's not fast food. It's quality.
I really do love the food here, nothing I've tried has been less than great. I always eat inside too, so I can listen to the radio streamed from France, and absorb the quaint atmosphere that so much more personal than any franchised joint.
Another nice thing is that the regulars who come in are always very nice and easy to talk to.
In response to other reviews, I have never had a problem whenever I eat here (and I don't speak French), the owner and her son have been nothing but pleasant . The thing is that they take their work seriously.
I love the eclairs and apple tarts, and if you're there for breakfast take advantage of their chocolate croissant and coffee combo. The sugar cookies are crumbly, but the taste is superb.
I'm kind of wondering if I can get them to do dessert for my wedding...
Normally, I go over prices, but this is one place where I didn't pay much attention to it. Â Just that whatever I pay feels worth it.
I've lived in the area for over two years and have never went here. Â My mistake.
A great selection of fresh breads, hand made chocolates, pastries and other small desserts. Â They have a few small tables and coffee available to buy as well if you need a snack.
I'm a fan and will be back... soon.
After running errands all afternoon, I was starving and needed to stop somewhere. I'm not a fan of fast food, so I am so glad this bakery is in my neighborhood! My husband and I went splitzy on a roast beef, tomato, lettuce with Brie on a baguette and ham with Brie on a baguette.  The bread has great crusty outside and a chewy inside - perfect!  I love the french sodas they offer.  My husband finished his lunch with an eclair  and I had a pear almondine tart. Both pasteries were divine.
Lunch for two was $20.00, which seems a little steep, but when thinks about what you would pay for a crappy fast food hamburger, greasy fries and a ginourmous soda this lunch was totally worth it.
.
A little gem located in yet another random strip mall in Parker. Â Located across the street from King Soopers (in the same lot as Sonic), we stumbled across this place when I went to get my jeans tailored next door one day.
Actual French people running an actual French bakery.... How cute and Parisian. Â The pastries taste/look delicious, and there are plenty of tasty little treats to choose from. Â Never tried the bread but they bake fresh bread, too. Â There's also a sign that says they will try to import French goods for you, if you inquire about something specific you want from France.
I do not know how any cake can be more gorgeous or more delicious! I had ordered it for our daughter's birthday, which I had to spend in the hospital. She picked it up and we had some in my room. I have no words to say how glorious it was! In an awful situation. I am going this weekend to get into the breads and pick up some dessert for the weekend. I am so excited for the possibilities. We are very lucky here in Parker to have such a fine bakery. I cannot imagine anyone being disappointed in any way. Thank you, La Baguette!
Review Source:This place is amazing! We live in the area, and just love stopping in to enjoy the wonderful smell of fresh bread and other yummies. I like to get bread for dinner, or for sandwiches and I don't know what they're called but the pepperoni bread things that she'll heat up for you for lunch are to DIE FOR!
The owners are from France, and they are quick to help you. I like to ask her for recommendations and have never been disappointed.
They have never been rude, maybe busy, but not rude. And they now have some tables and chairs for people that want to stay a little while.
I have been into some amazing (American'ized) French Cafes before, but this is sadly the only one where I didn't feel welcomed to sit down and eat my sandwich inside. But needless to say, I did order a standard sandwich and their baguette are to die for. The inside of the sandwhich is equilivant as what one would pack for a childs lunch (tuna, mayo, lettuce and tomatoe) but the bread made the sandwhich so amazing I would totally go back. Plus they are only a few dollars, much less than Subway, Jimmy Johns etc.
Review Source:This place is absolutely phenomenal, and the location couldn't be better! Walk in the front door and it feels like you've walked through a magical gate to Paris. Americans don't know what real bread looks like or tastes like. They don't sell it at the grocery store. Panera comes close but not close enough. THIS PLACE is where it's at. I'm sure there are other great bread places around town but this is the first one I've been to. I ordered a chocolate croissant and wanted to eat 9 more of them. Can't wait to go back for more! The owners are a cute little French family. French accent and all. Take your sweetie here and enjoy a little escape from the every day normal.
Review Source:It was pretty late that evening, and the owner lady was the only one left in the shop. She said everything is made from a scratch. Of course, I had to be politically incorrect and ask her if she was French. By the time I realized the slip, it was too late, but she was great. Apparently, she and her husband had learned pastry making in France and always had wanted to set up a bakery.
And where of all places does their dream come true? - In good ole' Parker. I agree with one of the previous yelper...Could they actually make better top line sales and profit margin had this been a different location? The shop is tucked in the between the postoffice and sonic drive thru. This is a tiny shop too. As we talked, I almost wished there was some table-chair type set up while two gals chatted, and enjoyed warm pastry
It was really downer kinda day for me (totally needed chocolate STAT) Â - atleast that's my excuse for going overboard with the pastries I bought, Oh well, yay for me. I got the bear claw, almondine, an assortment of cookies, a type of chocolate cake, and a few other pastries (whose names I entirely forgot although it was just last night!) There are some clue-card type name tags, but many pastries have specific French names, and you kinda just point at the one that looks good and say I want this, that and the one next to it. There is a pretty huge selection. The owner also told me to check 'em out during lunch or breakfast - she said their baguettes are right off the oven mid-morning ish.
Overall, worth the drive, and a total picker-upper. Will be back.
Just lovely. The only thing wrong with this place is its distance from the city (not sure Parker is the best place for it, but I'm sure some residents of Parker would disagree). I have visited multiple times and always found the staff to be perfectly gracious and attentive. This was my go-to place for bread when I lived in the area -- I've never been to France so can't comment on the authenticity, but the baguettes and various rolls were some of the best I've had.
Review Source:I was not prepared for the array of pastries when I walked in this shop. Â Overwhelmed, I carefully considered my options and decided on the ham and cheese croissant and the regular croissant. Â My mom, overwhelmed as well, also selected a few croissants, rolls, and a loaf of french bread.
The croissants were great and the rolls were so buttery and sweet. Â Ahhh. Â My mouth is watering just thinking about those rolls.
The owners are a cute French family. Â The prices are reasonable. Â I will be back for more!
If you want to feel like you're an American in Paris, come here. The "staff", which is a french mother and son, will make you feel like you're across the pond in a cafe where you're lucky to get served even though you're the only ones there. We entered as the only people in the store, but twenty minutes later and FIFTEEN other people who entered after us were fully served, our TWO sandwiches were finally ready. My favorite part was when the fifteen year old French debutant son told us there was "no more bread" for sandwiches, when there were so many loaves of bread and baguettes available that they were actually falling off the counter. My second favorite was when the snotty owner said it was "impossible" to replace fatty mayonnaise with olive oil on my girlfriend's sandwich. Uncomfortable place overall - makes you believe in French stereotypes.
Hint: If you speak French, then you get served. Otherwise, put your head down and bow to these Pastry Nazis, maybe they'll serve you if they feel like it.
Don't go in for breakfast or lunch sandwich, apparently all they're interested in serving is the 1,500 calorie abortions they call pastries.
Thank You Yelp users for helping me find this place. I didn't even know it existed despite driving by around it so many times. The breads are wonderful - very fresh and delicious, make my son's sandwiches taste even better! The pastries are so scrumptious - Napoleon cake, Fruit tarts, Eclairs, etc... - well made and delicious! What a great addition to Parker.
Review Source:This was such a wonderful surprise. Â I didnt really think that the bakery in the strip mall behind Sonic would amount to much, but I was quite mistaken.
My friend and I were on the hunt for cupcakes but it was monday and Nomilie was closed. Â She suggested La Baguette de Normandy.
When we walked it, Â I could not believe all the pretty desert choices. Â An entire case full of a huge variety of tasty treats. Â I wanted one of everything. Â Im glad I didn't see the lemon tart until after I ordered because I would have missed out on the triple chocolate. Â It was so perfectly flavored and creamy. Â The chocolate was not too strong and ate the whole thing instead of taking half of it home like I originally planned. Â My friend had the chocolate truffle and she ate it all too.
They only serve regular coffee, with cream and sugar. Â I was disappointed that I couldn't order some kind of fancy coffee but I was assured it was "Italian" and very good. Â Well, Â they were right about that too. Â It was perfect for the desert. Â
I ordered and took home a mixed berry tart for my husband and he liked it so much he would only give me one bite.
The breads look wonderful and I cant wait to try some. Â They also have chocolates that I will have to make a trip to try.
My Dad just bought a house near here and when I make the trip to go see him, Â I will stop here every time.
If you are out in this area, Â make sure you go. Â It was so good it make me glad that the cupcake shop was closed.
I love this bakery! It is absolutely authentically French- you'll know this if you ever stop to talk to the lovely couple that owns it. I have tried many different items and each is more amazing then the next and fresh made daily. I'm a sucker for the chocolate croissants! They also have free coffee in the morning with any purchase, which is a great deal if you ask me.
Review Source:Can't believe this place wasn't on Yelp! Â It's tucked away in a little strip mall (and yes it's in Parker) but it's such a gem.
According to the website the owner has been a "certified master baker, chef and chocolatier for 25 years". Â Both the people who work there seem like they're straight out of France, but so nice and happy to talk about anything they've made.
The have these viennoise baguettes which are narrower than traditional baguettes and very eggy - they're a delicious cross between croissants and challah. Â Let me tell you that they make the best crostini with a little bit of olive oil, salt, and pepper and some heat in the oven!
They also have the best sweet stuff here... Â Pastries, cakes, chocolates - mmmmm everything we've had has been delicious and I'm always tempted to buy a whole bunch of things to bring home!
Wish that it was closer to Denver but whenever I'm down that way I'll absolutely stop by and pick up a few things. Â Well worth a trip out of the way - you'll definitely enjoy it!
