My wife is Cuban and we both love the food at La Isla. The food here is not Cuban of course, but there are a lot of similarities between the dishes and the food here is better than a number of other local offerings which claim to be Cuban!
Nice atmosphere, great food, nice people - definitely worth trying!
La Isla has awesome food and drink specials for happy hour, which is everyday from 3pm to 6pm and again from 10pm to 1am. Â Plus, the service was great, food was truly delicious, and the drinks were tasty. Â
I strongly recommend the shrimp with garlic sauce (Camarones with al ajillo) and the mofongo (garlicky fried mashed plantains = YUM!), which is not on the menu. Â My mouth is salivating just thinking about these two dishes.
Will definitely be back to try more things!
Only been there once. Â I had some appetizers in the bar. Â The shrimp was pretty good. Â There is a great selection of rums. Â The drink options where just OK, and the bartender did not have any great recommendations. Â I was hoping with the rum selection there would be some killer drinks.
I think this place has potential.
