This club is great for just having a good time. You can go to different parts of the club for different kinds of music. If you really feel the need to smoke or it's just too hot from dancing and you need air there is a patio you can linger on. Honestly, it's worth going VIP in this club- you feel as if all eyes are on you, well that's how I felt. You can even go on saturday nights to partake in sone latin dancing, it's always fun to try a new style. All in all I feel as if it's a great club for a girls night out or to go out with all your friends or you're on vacation or even if you just wanna go dance salsa with your honey. I've been going there since opening weekend a few years ago and I still go there and still love it. I'm from New York where it's said to have some of the best night clubs and I still prefer La Zen over most of them over there. I don't mean to show a bias to the club due to the fact that the owner, Robinson, is my cousin but this is how I really feel.
Review Source:we went there as a group twice already, the main room played some great salsa , merengue and bachata music, and despite being in a somewhat " boring " town like PSL, they did give the vibe of a club from Miami or Broward. It would be nice if they were open past 2 am , but for what its worth, it does a great job of keeping the salsa flavor intact and the crowd is great. on our 2nd visit there was a scuffle , but the bouncers were quick to diffuse the situation and all went well after.
The drinks however ARE over priced, but in all fairness, they do need to make money to make up for the free admission to females.
We will be going back for some more salsa dancing and hopefully they will be able to stay open after 2 am in the near future
I was thoroughly impressed with Club LaZen.
I grew up in PSL and kept thinking to myself "we're in PSL right now?" The club feels like it's straight of Clematis or South Beach. Our city was in dire need of an true upscale dance club.
There is Valet parking in front of the club, the red carpet, and the velvet ropes. I was waiting for the paparazzi but they didn't come.
We did the VIP on the 2nd floor so we didn't enter through the normal area and am not sure what that looked like. The VIP was worth it and all the waitstaff were incredibly friendly. A manned staircase leads down to the dance floor and the bar is just underneath the 2nd floor. A huge Buddah is near the bar and a DJ is upstairs. Psychodelic images rotate to the music as projected on the 2nd floor above the club.
I believe I saw go-go dancers at some point on an elevated stage but I was too busy trying to keep the liquid in my glass while on the dance floor.
Unfortunately two of our friends were wearing flip-flops and weren't allowed in (partially due to the fact that going to LaZen was a spur-of-the-moment idea) but it goes to show that they stick by their rules and want to keep the upscale image.
We look forward to going back and anticipate that La Zen will be packed every weekend. Also looking forward to trying out the restaurant Robinson's that is joined to the club.
