It was tough for me to decide whether I would give this place three or four stars.  The waitress was very pleasant indeed, buuuuut....other people got their food before us.  When I say other  people I mean everyone else.  We sat in the backroom, which was completely empty except for us and one other table.  The room fills up...and we're waiting for our food.  And that's when my friend noticed that everyone else was getting their food but us.  Just when I said something out comes the food.  I got the Irish nachos, which was different than what I expected, I thought it would be more of a sliced potato, but really what it amounted  to was chili cheese fries (I got no chili).  It tasted decent, nothing to write home about.  I am still going to add this to my hunt for the perfect nachos list, as I think it should be noted that the name is a misnomer.  Also, I tried my first fried mars bar!  That was pretty darn good.   All in all we had a decent meal, and if the food didn't take so long to come out I would have definitely have given it 4 stars.

The wings and sliders (both not remotely Irish) are surprisingly really good. We have always had a great time and have been well taken care of. The staff is friendly, the environment is lively and a great place for a drink or with a large group.

The Irish food is pretty standard fare, and priced well (for being at a casino). The pub can go from near empty to packed quickly.

Be warned, they do a lot of private parties, always call ahead.

I will start with the good part, the food was pretty good. Ok, thats about the end of that. Now on to the bad part. It was dead on a friday night and they put our party of 4 in the quiet side room. There was one other party in there and out of all the tables, they put us right behind them at a tiny table. We squeezed in behind them and had to move the table away from the wall almost a foot just to reach the people sitting on the outside. The waitress came over and was VERY abrupt and made us feel like we were bothering her to be there. She kept this craptastic attitude during the entire meal. There was another waitress who helped out when our waitress wasn't around (which was most of the time, she just left for 15-20 minutes at a time, leaving us with empty drinks). The waitress who helped was very nice and friendly and got our second round of drinks for us as our waitress was no where to be found. We tried the potato cakes, which were very good mashed potatos made into fried cakes. There were 3 and they were medium sized. For the price, there should be 4-5. We also tried the wings, they were great. My wife and I split the mac and cheese. It came out at the temperature of lava. The broccoli that comes with it had very good flavor but over cooked so it was mushy. When we finally got to try the mac and cheese, it was very bland. We had to load it with pepper. The other couple we were with liked what they got but I dont remember what it was. They were still eating and we were picking at the mac and cheese as we found small bites that wouldn't burn out faces off and our waitress, who we hadn't seen since the initial ordering (everything was brought by food runners) came over and said "are you done?" to my wife and I. At this point we just wanted to leave, we put down our forks and said yes, wrap it and bring the check. We paid the bill, got the hell out of there and will never go back. With such a miserable waitress, it set a really crappy tone for our night and its not worth risking seeing her miserable face again. Oh and the drinks were WEAK and $12 each. There is much better in the complex for the same price or cheaper with great wait staff who appreciate customers who tip well.

We went to eat at the Lansdowne Pub before a concert last night. Since casino restaurants can be a little crazy on concert days we decided to go early. The hostess told us it'd be a 25 min. wait and we were seated within 10. That's a first for anywhere I've ever been. There were 4 of us in the group, 2 of us ordered the Irish dip sandwich, 1 ordered the chicken sandwich, and the the other ordered the burger. Everyone enjoyed their food and agreed that we'd go back again. Prices were very reasonable for a casino restaurant. The waitress was attentive but didn't  hover which is also a plus. My only personal complaint was that the music playing from the stereo was a bit too loud.

Stopped in here for lunch.  Had the grilled chicken sandwich.  The tomato chutney made the whole thing.  It was a good experience.  That was all I had.  I would stop in again for a quick bite to eat at lunch time.  I think the guy setting up for the band must have checked the 127 times.  It got annoying.

I went here for drinks (no food) before a concert at Mohegan sun. As a bar, I loved the feel. It's a very big place with two full size bars in two seperate rooms. There was a large amount of seating and ledges with bar stools on the some the walls where you could sit or lean if just having a drink. Although it was early, there was a decent crowd and there was certainly lot of room for dancing. I will defintely check it out again the next time I'm at the casino!

After last night's dinner, it should be called The Letdown Pub because it was so disappointing.

I was in of a party of 12.  Since I had just arrived from a baby shower and was already stuffed, I didn't want anything heavy.  With Mohegan Sun also being cold, I was freezing, so I had the onion and ale soup because it was the only soup on the menu.  Bad choice I made.

Knowing that I was at a casino, I knew ahead I was overpaying the soup at $8.  When the waiter brought out the soup, I felt robbed (or my boyfriend was robbed, it was his turn to pay).  It was only one cup of soup without any crackers or bread OR SPOON!  Though I told the waiter TWICE that I needed a spoon, I never got one.  So I was eating my soup with a fork until someone in my party went to the bar and got me one!

Other people got sliders or corn beef sandwiches.  They looked good, but not outstanding.

Like any pub, it was very loud and with my horrible hearing, I couldn't hear any conversations that went on at the table. And the bathrooms sucked as none of the locks worked properly in the ladies' room.

I would have been happier with a Krispy Kreme donut.

There's some good and bad to discuss here. New restaurants have growing pains, especially gigantic ones at a major American casino. Our experience at The Lansdowne last night shows promise, but also leaves room for improvement.

A party of 12 does command its challenges, but it's hard to ignore when a total of FOUR requests are made for a spoon [two from me, two from my girlfriend], and 10-15 minutes pass before the spoon is actually received, so that my girlfriend can actually eat her soup.

She wound up eating most of it with a fork. Yum...

This is a cool place, no doubt. The decor is quite authentically Irish if not a bit overdone. I will also say that the menu is reasonably priced for the most part. The aforementioned soup at $8 was a ripoff, but my corned beef and cheddar on white toast at $11 was quite a good deal for casino food. Other reasonably priced sandwiches and full plates range from $11-20.

It was very good food overall. The homemade chips on the side of my sandwich were a nice touch. Irish classics like curry fries and mushy peas are on the menu. I can't imagine many people order these things, but it's nice to know they're there.

The execution needs to improve, but the underpinnings of this restaurant are quite good. I'll be back, but expecting a little more, that's all.

Three of us had lunch at the Lansdowne today.  Overall, the food was OK but not great.  The Onion & Ale soup was good, but the Whiskey BBQ Chicken Wings were exceptional - lots of flavor!  One of us had the Chicken Pot Pie and she loved it.  Another had the Bangers & Mash.  The sausages left a lot to be desired because they were mild and mushy inside.  I had the Irish Dip which was OK (needed salt), but it was WAY overpriced at $14!  I ordered blue cheese dip for my fries, and the dip was great.  For dessert one of us had the Bread Pudding which he really enjoyed.  Service was excellent.  Overall the prices were outrageous for the amount and quality of food.
