The best mexican food i've ever had. I live in Jackson, MI and drive there just for them. You must try the casa de las limas I do not know if I spelled it right. You can choose from alot of different kind of meats to have in it. My first visit to here I had the fajita's while they were good every other time I have had this. It truly is the best ive ever had.
Review Source:We love Las Limas. Service is very fast. The style of Mexican food is a little more fresh and authentic. Salsa is good - ask for the super hot salsa! Â Margaritas are good. I like the casa de las limas which is a mix of fajita ingredients in a stone bowl. The flame it in front of you.. Very impressive! Â Fun place for the whole family.
Review Source:They don't allow you to order from the lunch menu on the weekend. Â I just don't understand places that do that. Â I suppose if it were crowded to the gills, then they could get away with it, but this place was anything but crowded. Â One flavor of salsa--incredibly hot , bordering on the inedible. Â I asked if they had anything a little more tame, and they said no, they only had one kind and it varies from day to day. Â I guess they have never heard of a recipe.
Watch the chips and salsa refills. Â If you are one person, you get 2 baskets of chips , and if you are a table of four--you get two baskets of chips. Â Anything over that, there is a two dollar charge for each basket.
So, my recommendation?  Save your money and go to the Taco Bell about  a half mile south.  They have more kinds of salsa.  You can order off the whole menu any day of the week, and you won't have to worry about the salsa burning a whole through your gut.  Plus, it will be a whole lot less than $36 dollars for a family of three.
Ate there today  for the first time with my husband and almost 2 year old daughter. Newly transplanted to this area, Las Limas is regaled by the locals as a "you have to go there" place. Having just lived in Los Angeles for 3 years, I'm not sure Mexican food in Indiana can quite compare, but . . .
We got there shortly after it opened around 11:15 on a Thursday and were seated immediately. It did draw in a decent crowd quite quickly. Servers were all friendly and prompt in the service department. They were quick to bring out the crayons and offer us a high chair (all greatly appreciated!). Moreover, they included our daugther when attending to our needs (which was VERY appreciated).
I have to say their chips are some of my personal favorites. Not at all stale. Nice and crunchy--they were even warm when they first came out. Seemed homemade, but I have no idea. Absolutely loved them. The salsa was your typical red salsa with some kick to it. I ordered the "Special Lunch #3" and that included a bean burrito, cheese enchilada, and Meican rice. I found it it to be good enough. I was certainly full by the time I was done. However, it was average in taste, I'd say.
Our daughter had just eaten shortly before we got there, so we let her have the chips and salsa (which she loved, too) and then we ordered a fruit cup for her, as well. Â It was all of $1.00, so I should have known. It could have come straight from the grocery store for all we know. It was still in the plastic cup--foil lid and all when it was brought to our table. I had asked the waiter what was in it and he said he thought "pineapple, peaches, and other things." Well it was the syrupy peaches and apricots that you can get off of your local grocer's shelves. Definite thumbs down on that one. I'd rather you sold me a bananna for a buck.
The atmoshere was peppy, as you you'd expect for Mexican cuisine. Brightly colored, busy, (good if you have little kids. My daugther loved the happy suns that were on all the chairs). Bathrooms were clean; always a plus. Oh, and if you forgot to buy contraception at the drug store, just make sure you have 75 cents when you use the restroom. Yep. Seriously. Even have more than one type to choose from.
If we were in dire need of Mexican or needed a location for a large group, then I suppose we'd go back. I do  really like their chips, after all. Otherwise, all in all in it was fine, but they do leave some room for improvement when it comes to the food itself.
