Fun tour and great beer.  My favorite is the Black Jack Porter and the Milk Stout Nitro. Staff is very friendly and the bar isn't full of hipsters :)

This is what a tap room should be.  They nailed it.

It was a bit loud inside so we elected to sit outside.  After sampling all their beers we ordered some pints that interested us, and relaxed for a while.

The staff was very helpful, their beers very tasty and unique.

This place has amazing stouts.  They have beers that are very unique, I don't remember what it was called but it was sour.  Their cask and nitro beers are amazing.  If you can handle it "Wake Up Dead" is a must.

My only complaint is their IPA isn't.  But this isn't enough to knock their otherwise superb selection down below 5 stars.

I love visiting breweries. The process of brewing beer is a standard one (for the most part), but each brewery offers a little variety in beer styles, tap room set up, and for the beer nerds, different neato brewing equipment. I'm trying to visit as many as I can in CO, and Left Hand was high on my list.

The first thing I noticed about Left Hand was how, to me at least, surprisingly small scale it was. We went on a Sunday afternoon, and there maybe 30 people hanging out in the tap room and on its nice patios. We each grabbed a beer, and were able to get on their next tour (tours start at 1, 2, and 3).

The tour was really cool-very small and intimate. There were 6 of us total, plus our guide. Our tour guide was excellent-he added a very personal touch to the whole thing, instead of just offering a mundane, standard explanation of everything. You really get right in with the equipment, standing right next to the tanks, the bottling line, everything.

The tap room itself is really nice-a very cool layout with, as mentioned before, two great patios that are very cozy, sunny and shady so you can take in some rays or stay cool if you prefer. The whole bar tending staff was very knowledgable and nice.

I really enjoyed Left Hand brewing, and next time I'm in Longmont I'll probably stop by for a beer again.
