    Awesome Things About Leggets:

    1) Bud Bingo. The greatest idea ever to come to a bar! It went away for awhile, but it is now back. Who knew that trying to win the ultimate prize of the famous leggets hoodie could be so entertaining.

    2) Shot Wheel. Granted the items on the shot wheel are not that great, but it is always a good time watching it spin and freeking out when it lands on something semi-cool and cheap.

    3) Price. Leggets is affordable and always has a special going on.

    4) Monday Night Football Wing Specials. Very Cheap Wings. Their wings are delicious and have an addicting sauce. I used to come here every Monday night when I lived in the area.

*Minus 1 star for having a bad layout (the bar covers the majority of the floor space). It gets way to crowded in the summer. They need to limit patrons and finally say "no more people". And they should not be charging cover to get in her. It is a local spot. That is a little messed up.*

The pizza is amazing! Leggetts shot wheel on Thursday night is a great time but be prepared to throw up the next day. Every half hour they spin the wheel and whatever shot it lands on is a dollar but they are mostly fruity mixed shots.

Love this place. The best. Great bartenders, great pizza, great bingo, great shuffleboard, good food. Stronger than the blizzard. And eventually stronger than sandy.

The inside is really nice, but the outdoor back patio area is even better and worth the wait!  We were here to grab a bite after a beach day, which happened to be the 4th of July.  Manasquan seems to have gotten hit pretty hard by Sandy, this was one of the few places open that we could grab a bite and get drinks.  Nice crowd, live band playing 80's music, open grill you can see, bar in back, tiki like huts and comfy patio furniture.  Also, lots of gorgeous flowers.  It may sound strange, but the outdoor area really grabs your attention if you're walking by.  The place was pretty crowded, as you can imagine, but service was super fast and friendly!  Drinks were out in record speed after we ordered.  We got a grilled chicken salad (I wasn't really feeling it- kinda bland) and the fried flounder sandwich with fries.  The sandwich was really good-fish fresh and really tasty.  Good fries too.  They happened to be doing captain morgan drink specials, which is my go-to drink, so two thumbs up by me!  I'd def. return!

Leggets is a Jersey shore beach bar classic.  A place where guys wear shorts and t shirts and girls wear short dresses and flip flops all year 'round.

Cold beer, hot pizza, loud bands and newly updated sound system and big screen TVs all around the bar (post Sandy).  A great place to see a game, play Bingo (seriously) and chillax.

If you want fancy, go somewhere else. If you want Jersey, its Leggetts. Its all ages including families during the day. The later it gets, the younger it gets.

During the day, 3 stars. At night? Negative stars. All of them.

Daytime -- relaxing bar, decent food (not great though, and the philly cheesesteak is by far the worst I've ever had). Good to get off the beach, get lunch, then go home.

    Nightime:

These guys are greedy. They charge a cover past a certain point. Ok .. the point of a cover is to keep people out and do crowd control. If I pay cover, I think "wow, ok cool. I'd rather pay 5 bucks now, and have a spot to at least breathe/stand when I walk in."

Cue the buzzer .. "EHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" Wrong!

I have never seen a more poorly designed bar. The area for the bartenders takes 75% of the floorspace. Um, that's stupid. If you're lucky to climb over all the over-sexed morons crowding the place to the point where you literally cannot move, you won't be able to breathe, and every one of their patrons is a loud pseudo-alpha-male jerk. The women are just ... I can't even explain. The music is dreadful. The place is filthy.

Say what you want about Osprey .. at least they make people wait outside for the benefit of those already in there not to suffocate. That's crowd control 101, people. Learn it.

Would give negative stars if I could. As a practically lifelong resident of Manasquan, I can say with the utmost conviction that this is the worst bar in the history of mankind.

Crusty, insolent middle-aged bartenders that seem to have a vendetta against every patron in there and get flustered/agitated when you request a drink.

The physical bar itself is massive and takes up the entire floor space so the place is beyond cramped when there's a crowd.

Poor/generic beers on tap, subpar food, cheesy atmosphere, and rude bar service.

This place fails on all levels.

The pizza is very good but drinks are nothing special. It gets ridiculously packed during summer nights and you can't even move.

Walked in after a great Sunday on the beach and the front bar had a typical Down the Shore 20-something vibe.  Not so good looking "kids" thinking they were all that when in actuality they're not  even half that.

We took a table on the patio outside and our feeling changed a bit....Very laid back a bunch of other families there for an end of the weekend dinner.  Our server came by and was very pleasant....we placed out order of 1 large pizza, Grilled Cajun Shrimp appetizer, fish and chips and 1 kids chicken fingers.  Here is our take on the food:

Pizza - ok...crust a little chewy and tasted like the pie was sprinkled with not so good powered garlic.

Fish and chips - not bad....maybe a little to greazzy

Kids chicken finger - your typical chain restaurant frozen verity

Grilled Cajun Shrimp - now here is what is ridiculous.....the appetizer came and there were 4 shrimp on the plate.....We looked at each other and said "THIS  for $13.25?!?!?!?!?!"  When we asked the server she kind of looked at us as if we were crazy....Now these were not even U12 (12 shrimp per pound)...they were more like U40...small little guys.  To top it off they tasted just eh.

Bottom line....food not so great and we will not be going back

i liked the ambience outside, we checked this place out on a friday night. they had summer shandy on tap and it were crisp and delicious. $5 cover if u are just there to drink but we joined some friends who were snacking so it we didn't have to pay...HOWEVER due to sound ordinance they made us all shuffled inside around 11 or so and it was elbow to elbow, hot and just not appealing so we left.

Was there last weekend with  a group of friends where this doorman named Frank called one of the girls on line a pig. If I did not have respect for the bar staff (minus him) I would have done something really bad.

I have been rocking out at Leggetts for a long time. It is beyond me why this guy has a job there. Not a great representation of a business that has been around forever and has had such a great rep.

    Love,

    A Benny

This place was bustling with beach-goers in July, as one would expect.  I originally just went for drinks but I ended up ordering Jack Daniels wings and the prime rib.  It was pretty hard to turn down a king cut for $15.  I didn't pick up the flavor of the Jack Daniels sauce on the wings at all.  They tasted more like soy sauce.  The prime rib, although seasoned nicely, was severely overcooked.  I asked for it rare and it came out medium-well.  Other than that, the baked potato was excellent and the broccoli appeared to be fresh - not frozen - which I found surprising for a sports bar.  Overall, this is a fun place to go for a drink, but I would recommend ordering something simple.

The incredibly sexist man heading up the register made me so uncomfortable that I will never come back.  Leggetts should be careful about their staff, Frank the bouncer is sexually harrassing women in line.

Frank, the manager, sexually harassed my friend at the door to get in.  When she wouldn't put up with it he refused to let us in. What Kind of place is this?!?!

One of my all-time favorite bars anywhere.  Yes that is a bold statement.  You can go here any time of the day, any day of the week, any season of the year, and have a good time.  Step off the beach on a Saturday afternoon and throw down a few Coronas...shoot over on a Wednesday night in November to catch the game.....come hear a local band play live music on a Sunday night.....chill out on the patio for a casual dinner....rock out to their infamous playlists on summer weekends while being packed in like sardines.  Whatever you're into, Leggetts has it.  People of all ages hang out here and that is part of what makes it great.  The bartenders are legendary, and so are the bar pies (especially the one with vodka sauce).  I feel like I get blasted with good vibes the moment I step through the door.

Had a wonderful time here for dinner with a few of my friends while we were staying here for the week! The outdoor seating area is awesome, and the margaritas are even better!

A crowded early afternoon at Leggetts. The first Penn State game of the 2011 college football season. Pitchers of water for me (still recuperating from the night before), endless bottles of Bud Light for everyone else (does this place sell any other beers?)

The bar food (chicken tenders, burgers, quesadillas) looked pretty terrible, but I noticed the pizza oven and decided to give the Margarita  shot. A small is the perfect size to split between two people, and the flavor overall was better than expected.

Although I was not drinking, Leggetts was still fun. The place was packed full with PSU fans playing bingo and other games. At one point, two skinny blondes with fake boobs walked in wearing nothing but their string bikinis. The entire bar stopped what they were doing and stared for about three minutes, including myself. Yuck.

Ever heard of no shirt, no shoes, no service? Come on.

Four star bar, three stars for the "just ok" food.  Lots of TV action for sports nuts.  Better-than-basic pizza, but anything ambitious is beyond this kitchen's scope. The garden is a pleasant place to eat.

Leggetts is both laid back, yet also high energy due to the high crowds it attracts.  They have live bands 3 days a week, which I always like.  Also I like that the regular piped in music, even during the weekend, is rather varied.

The shot wheel on Thursday is the worst best thing ever.  $1 shots are irresistible to the point one can find themselves barfing on the Manasquan beach at 1am.

The outside area isn't really as good of a bar scene as it could be.  The area is best to sit down and eat food.  Plus since the bar is too close to residences, the outside shuts down fairly early.

Outside of drink specials, the prices are a little much.  I know I live in a tourist driven economy, but still its losing a star for that.

OK so we went here to watch the band and have fun...but when the mother of the only girl singer is getting in your face about the band, because we had made a comment about how a singer had used a i pad for a song. I understand that they used  it to know the songs.  The female singer knew the words to certain  songs....she wasn't that great though.  But the mom and  aunt assumed we were talking trash or something, we were just talking about how convenient i pads are, when we went to a piano bar a few weeks ago they were using one too. They got in my face and had to put their 2 cents in, very unpleasant...won't come back if this band is playing,  Why when I can go to Absbury Blues for live music too.  MUSCIANS CHECK YOUR CRAZY PARENTS.  Besides that the waiters only watched the music, not the 4 people trying to get drinks and pay their bills.   So annoying.

I've been to Leggett's bar many times over the years and have always been pretty happy with the service, atmosphere, drink prices, etc.  However, the last handful of times I have been here were for the Monday night 25 cent wing and Blue Moon specials and that is what my post is about...

I believe this special only runs in the off-season.  (We found out about it the beginning of 2009.)  It WAS totally worth it to mosey down to the ghost town that Manasquan beach is in the winter.  The wings WERE meaty, the sauce on them perfect, the pizza is great and I have never complained about a glass of Blue Moon.

I say was/were because toward the last couple months of spring 2010 this deal really went downhill.  The wings have gotten really skimpy and they added this rule where everyone at your table must order a drink other than water if you are partaking in the wing special.  One time we went there and I was DD.  The waitress said I had to get a drink, but they don't have unsweetened iced tea and I don't drink soda. Sooooo what does that leave to order except water?  I ended up getting a soda that just sat there.  (Also, the 3 other people I was with all ordered beers so what was the big deal with giving me a water? We also ordered 2 pizzas.)

I know this is silly, but it's the little things like this that really turn me off from a place. I was by no means a regular, but we did stop by Leggett's pretty often (Monday or not) prior to all this nonsense.

One last note, this bar is great in the off-season, but jam-packed with bennies in the summer because Leggett's and The Osprey are the only places in that area.  I advise you to avoid it in the summer, unless you enjoy orange spray tans and greased hair. :P

I love this place! I went here for the first time a couple weeks ago on a Friday night with a friend. It was our "girl's night out". We came to relax, shoot the breeze and DRINK! We ordered a bunch of Long Island Iced Teas (YUM), but I was actually pleasantly surprised how good the food was. I wasn't expecting anything over mediocre.  We grazed and picked all night. I ordered Shrimp Shumai and some Sushi. Wow! It was SO GOOD and I eat a lot of sushi! I also tasted some of my friend's steak bites and those were great also (When she got up to go to the bathroom she told me to guard her plate with my life so the waiter wouldn't take it away. I stole some. YUMMY!!).

Leggetts remains the ultimate "come as you are" beach bar.  Thursday night's Shot Wheel and the locals-only atmosphere of Sundays are the most ideal nights to hit it up for pizza, draft Buds and some terribly typical Jersey tunes.

Weekend nights are a bit more chaotic, with energetically-drinking bodies stuffed into the ring around the big island bars.  They close the outdoor area around 10 p.m., presumably to avoid noise complaints from their no doubt affluent and irate neighbors.

Food has improved this season, with some offerings approaching actual palatability.  An eggplant parm sandwich was great; a ribeye sandwich, dry and overcooked with no discernable flavor.  Good thing the harried staff mistakenly gave me a cheesesteak instead, which I ate immediately because I was starving.  Salads are fine, fries and onion rings all acceptable.  It's not a dining destination, but a drinking one.

This place looks like it would be a nice place to hang out at night if you just wanted to relax with your friends. There's an outdoor area that's nicely decorated and the inside is fairly large, but has a sports bar feel to it.

Unfortunately this review is based on their food as I came here for lunch. I had ordered their cajun chicken wrap - the spices were good but it was too dry & the fries were okay. My friend ordered the lasagna which was good and the mac & cheese was decent (but small). Our server was pretty attentive. Overall it was a decent experience, but I do want to come here at night & see what it's like.

    A. Okay, I witnessed a new phenomenon on Saturday night
    i. Dudes on their knees on the bar stools at the bar, popped polo collar, with sunglasses on, singing sweet caroline and pointing at other dudes, who are also on their knees on bar stools opposite them
ii. 'Ladies' with tiaras on, also on their knees on the bar stools picking dudes out of the crowd to come up to them for a sloppy pda
    a. On the dl, I took the flip-flops off the dudes on the bar stools and threw them across the bar
    b. On the dl, I saw dudes take pics under the dresses of the 'ladies' on the bar stools and show everyone

This place is pretty fun, and I'd hit again to see new peacocking behavior.

After fleeing Point Pleasant, we decided to come have a few drinks in Manasquan. Parking was a nightmare - this destination does not welcome day-trippers at all. We sat at the outside bar. It was a very pleasant place to have a few drinks. I drank some pina coladas and hubby stuck to Blue Moon. We didn't try the food, but we were pleased with the drinks and service. I would definitely come back, but only by train or if I were staying in Manasquan for the weekend. Parking was quite a hassle!

Ahh Leggett's, my summer dirty pleasure.
This bar is all about the music, which is a tape of great hits from the 60's, 70's and 80's. That's right, I said a TAPE. Either way, the beers are cold, and cheap and the bartenders are behind the bar every night to serve you happiness in a beer bottle.
You will walk out of this bar with beer soaked flip flops, a hoarse voice, probably a few phone numbers and maybe a strangers spit on your chin from a sloppy summer makeout session in a dark corner.
I love me some leggetts come memorial day.
