4 star meal at a 2 star price.
The owner / chef is the only person working sometimes. So yes, service might be a bit slow but this place has so many positives it's hard to focus on negatives. Â
Fresh and yummy taste sensations. Any soup they have, order it! Â They are always incredible. What this place lacks in decor in makes up for in taste and food prepared by a chef with a fantastic palate.
We live right down the road and almost didn't give it a chance. So glad we did. Â Make sure you are not in a rush. This is not fast food. It is food hand prepared.
Lemongrass is an amazing addition the the neighborhood. It's affordable; it's healthful; it's locally owned. I'm partial to the chicken thai me up. It's a stir fry in wrap served with sauce. I'm a sauce nut, so I gravitate towards this dish. Though their other meals are delicious too. I haven't tried the breakfast yet, but plan to. It's very affordable and high quality. Thanks for moving into the area!
Review Source:Noticed Lemongrass when the sign went up last fall. Â After months of driving by thinking about giving it a try, today was the day I finally stopped in...
The Good-The food was pretty good. Â I had the Lemongrass Bowl (A vegetarian dish) and my friend had the Seared Tuna Salad. Â The Lemongrass bowl was really tasty for a non-meat dish (I'm not a vegetarian). Â My friend said her tuna was grilled perfectly and had a lot of flavor, but the sweet chile dressing was a little on the bland side. Â She also had the tomato basil bisque, which she said was really good.
The Bad-Coke and Mountain Dew are on the menu, but no diet soft drinks. Â Unsweetened tea is offered as a substitute. Â Other patrons tried to order diet soda while I was there, too. Â Also, even though the Lemongrass bowl was very tasty, it was completely different than what the menu presented. Â The menu stated that the bowl contained Shitake mushrooms, snow peas, heirloom tomatoes, scallions and carrots. Â The bowl that arrived for me had broccoli, carrots, celery and zucchini in it... none of the other advertised vegetables.
The ugly-The service was painfully slow. Â We arrived at 1140 and placed our orders around 1145. Â My dish arrived at 1220 and my friends didn't arrive until 1235. Â The waitress was apologetic. Â We noticed there was only one person preparing dishes in the kitchen, too. Â People that came in before and after us also had long waits and one lady ended up leaving without ever getting her food. Â It appearded that dishes were being prepared one at a time.
I don't know if they were understaffed, not prepared for the lunch crowd today or what, but it will be hard to go back after our experience today. Â I really wanted to love Lemongrass, it is close to work, not a chain and has a decent looking menu. Â The staff/management of the restaurant has a lot of work ahead of them getting down the basics of service. Â Â 45-60 minutes is too long to wait for salads, sandwhiches and dishes that should be relatively quick to repair. Â If Lemongrass wants to attract the business crowd in the vicinity for lunch, they must be able to turn them around at a quicker pace.
