The 25-30 min wait turned out to be much longer. Especially after people that had left and came back 10-15 min. After their name had been called got to get the next available table. Well , the waitress was quick getting the order in and everything was pretty good until we got ready to go, that took a whille to get the waitress to come back over, she was trying to fix the order of the people next to us. In short, service up front sucks, waitress was good for a busy weekend night. Would have given 3 stars if up front service was better, and 4 stars if the steak wasn't so tuff.
Review Source:I would have given this place three, or even four stars, but the last time I went (November 2008), it just wasn't anything to get excited about. When I lived in Evansville with my parents (1993-2001), we used to go here about once a month because they had really good steak. There was a special atmosphere here that I loved so much as a kid. There were peanut shells on the floor, loud country music playing, dimly lit inside, with a giant moose on the wall. When we went back (my sister had the same hopes that the place hadn't changed one bit), all of that was done away with and it was a little more like a formal Texas Roadhouse.. or at least the same as one. It was still really good food, but the menu had changed a bit and the place was almost too clean to be considered a steakhouse.
They did sing "Happy Birthday" to me and bring me a sundae since my birthday was the following day and I was leaving town that night to go home to Arizona. I thought it was really sweet that they gave in to my friend's wishes to sing to me.
If you'd been there in the 90s and enjoyed it, I don't reccomend it. If you've never been there and want some decently priced lunch, give this place a try.
