I was super excited when this cafe opened, but after two lunches there, I had decided that was enough. Â While the food is ok, it isn't anything special and I thought it a bit overpriced for what was offered.
What really brought this rating down was the lack of seating and the incredibly long wait we had to order food. Â If you are trying to have a quick lunch... forget about it. Â They don't seem to be able to handle large crowds for lunch and the staff behind the counter seemed frazzled. Â I also don't understand the cafe having an entrance to Brinkers, seems a bit like a wasted space when there aren't enough tables and seats at peak lunch times.
Cafe 111 is an excellent lunch destination if you're on the east side of Evansville. The food is consistently excellent, the staff are generally friendly, and the atmosphere is more elegant than you generally get in an Evansville restaurant.
I've never had a sandwich or side at Cafe 111 that wasn't excellent. The portions are perfect - the half sandwich and side combo (with a drink and chips) is exactly right for a lunch where you feel full but not overstuffed (rare in Evansville). It's a pleasant and quiet atmosphere where you can carry on  a conversation.
They're only open until 2:00 PM most days (closed Sunday), so it's strictly a lunch option. But if you're looking for a lunch stop while out shopping or running errands on the east side, you can't beat it.
