I could not love this place more! It was cozy, and magical. I really do not know another word to better describe it. There was something in the air. My family and I visited in fall, the most beautiful time to visit! The leaves were amazing, and this place was something out of a fairy tale. Being from Southern California, I couldn't be more amazed, mistified and awe-inspired. Normally being a beach and city person, I don't really favor the countryside. This trip totally changed my perspective. You drive along the orange-leaved trees, past moss covered grave-yards, old run-down tree houses and burbling brooks. I could rant on and on about this place! It's funny, last time I'd been there was about 3 years ago. I couldn't remember the name, so I went looking for it on the internet. I was overjoyed when an hour later, I found it!
This place leaves me awed every time. I hope you have as happy a time as I, but I'm sure you will! Have fun!

Made a reservation for last Sunday - Jan 20th.  Yelp and Open Table.  Even got a reminder email.  Problem -  they are closed until late Spring.

I love exploring this area looking for new and different places to eat. Longwood was a few pages in on Yelp, but once I found it I knew my fiancé and I thought we had to give it a try.

The place is small and classy, the ambiance is lovely. We were greeted, our coats were taken, and then we were escorted into the dining room which had strings of garland, lights, and red bows for Christmas. We sat by the fireplace. The menu is small, with some standards, NY strip with Gorgonzola, standard chicken dishes, etc. and some other, more unique entrees, like quail and duck. I had the duck and it was perfect. The sweet potatoes were incredible. My fiancé had the scallops which were huge and very tasty. You are served a fresh popover with dinner-it was so big I couldn't finish but so light and fluffy with maple butter, just delicious.  We had coffee with dessert-bread pudding. I've never had it so I figured why not. Wow was it good. Super rich, creamy Bailey's and delectable chocolate.

Bottom line: beautiful atmosphere, delectable entrees, worth the trip.  I'm planning on returning to sample everything else on the menu.
