I am only giving this place 1 star because that is the lowest rating. They don't even deserve this. The manager is rude and serves frozen and reheated food. Pathetic. Much better places to eat in Mexia.

Service and food was far subpar. Margaritas are wine based and absolutely terrible. The steak and enchiladas were like something you buy in a frozen tv dinner, meat was very bland on chalupas and in the enchiladas. Enchilada sauce was terrible like generic brand chili. Wait staff rude and unattending. Took 1 1/2 hours for food and repeatedly requested drink refills and did not get them in a timely manner. My family and I were very disgusted with them including the owner who argued they ate the best around the area. I rated 1 star cause they didn't have a -5 option. This place is not very appetizing. Avoid this place if you don't want the morning after regretful bowel movements.

We ate at Los Pepe's in early July while we were in town for a family reunion. The prices are way too high for the TV dinner like food that you get. I seriously left there feeling like they robbed us.

After leaving and driving around,  I found that this is a chain restaurant and that there are actually many in the area. I entered the place because I had never been to a Los Pepes before, and my review of the food and place was written while there, without any knowledge that they are a chain. (I tend to favor non-chains.)

The food in general was extremely bland.  Three times I asked for spice, and it seemed to be impossible. I asked them if they had a spicier salsa, but they brought out a bland green salsa. The chips are okay, but the salsa is sub par, and just tastes like plain tomatoes. The green salsa is not much better. The street tacos were fine but again boring and much worse than the tacos I get on my street. And the enchiladas seemed to be canned chili wrapped in a burrito. I asked for raw jalopenos, and even they seemed incredible week, not much spicier than a green bell pepper. They have beer and Margaritas, although they are wine based and too sweet for my taste.  The ambiance was fine; standard for a small mexican restaurant. Pretty expensive lunch considering the quality. I have had better food at taco bell (which was across the street); at least taco bell has hot sauce.
