I called up the Lost Dog sight-unseen, just a few days before my friend's Cape Cod wedding, to set up the after-party. I'd never been there, just knew it was a stone's throw from the hotel where most of the guests were staying. Â Jeremy, Chad, and Nancy were so nice and helpful, setting aside the dining room for us and arranging to roll out apps and pizzas as soon as we started to arrive! Â Thanks as well to the cocktail waitresses who ran like heck to make sure our rowdy crowd got drinks, separate checks, and kind, friendly service. Pizzas, wings, and fried apps all hit the spot, and when we ordered a 2nd round, they delivered quickly. A low-key, fun spot for a few beers and local cover band magic.
Review Source:Busy place on a Friday night, but worth a little wait. Â Spent about 20 minutes waiting for a table, so had a beer at the bar. Â Very noisy in the bar area but considerable less so in the lower area as it is separated by a wall. Â Staff was very pleasant and service was prompt. Â Food is good pub food with the usual fried seafood dishes. Â Definitely a good place to grab a beer and a bite.
Review Source:Great bar tenders, good food and strong drinks.... although from NJ, we like hanging out with the Cape Cod locals and not at some tourist trap.. Â LDP in Orleans is our go to spot (even though we are Yankee fans and dont say anything).... Good Onion soup, great wings and personal pizza along with a few specials... Prime Rib being one of them. Â Def check it out if you like the bar scene and good local folks!!.
Review Source:Yum yum yum! Broccoli bites were excellent! Plates were a great size. The scallop roll was perfect. Light batter, not greasy, not rubbery. Hubby's Captain's Club was an excellent piece of fish. Daughter's burger was perfect, big and juicey. Little daughter's kids'pasta was a huge portion. And contrary to a previous review, the fries were just right! Good beer rounded out an excellent meal! We spend a lot of time going between NRMS and NRHS...we'll be stopping here a lot more!
Review Source:I had to give 4 stars and not 5 to Lost Dogstyle because the French fries were really bad grease sponges, not fresh. Â But the lobster roll was really good. Â It was really, really good. Â
THE SERVICE WAS GREAT. Â The guys bartending (all I can speak for is the bar) were very friendly and on-the-ball and although my wife can attest I like women I really think the bar guys did a good job as well as who made the lobster roll. Â (The bun was one of those weird pieces of Mass. bun slitted that falls apart & sure ain't no Chicago Vienna poppyseed bun, but it was still, again, a great lobster roll.)
Wasn't too impressed when I first walked in but sure am glad I gave it a chance! Â Friendly bartender and patrons at the bar. Â Of the 3 lobster rolls I ate on the Cape this week, the one at the Lost Dog Pub was the BEST! Â Plenty of moist, fresh lobster, not much besides yummy lobster in the roll.
Review Source:Must agree with most of the yelpers here. This is an ok place for a burger/sammie and a beverage but not really any great shakes. Â There are many places around here that have the same food offerings in the same price range. The key is to make your place different or special. Great service/waitstaff personality, nice plate presentation, unusual/cool decor etc.. This is just a decent place to grab something and probably does well with the locals but I think the Land Ho does a better job in general.
Review Source:Opened up a few years ago in Orleans, as a second location to the original East Dennis Dog. I'm partial to the east dennis dog, as i've been going for years - but this location is larger, well set up and gets a great crowd! They never fail to impress with the bands/live music - and even have karaoke sometimes... one of the best nightlife spots in the area, prefer over the land ho now. Have not eaten at this location, but if the food is anything like the E Dennis location - it's going to be great.
Review Source:Stumbled on this restaurant after leaving Nauset Beach and heading back west on the Cape...  Pleasantly surprised by the experience.  Very tasty dinner.  Attentive service.  Excellent pizza (the Meatle Mania) -- meat (sausage, pepperoni, and ham) juicy and fresh, flavorful tomato sauce, great dough.  Calamari appetizer above average.  Half necks seemed fresh.  Good salad with grilled chicken.  Healthy portions.  Nice selection of draft beers.  Good atmosphere --  dark and lively  bar area with TVs ( Go Sox!) / back room with  comfortable booths .  Will definitely go back when in the neighborhood and would recommend to others.
Review Source:My first time at the Lost Dog Pub in Orleans... I would return. I was pleasantly surprised. Â I thought it was going to be more of a dive type place. When you walk in you are confronted with the main bar, and someone asked us "where do you want to sit" and we looked around and really didn't see anywhere we would like to sit in the dark bar area, but then he helpfully mentioned there was also a dining room, and "lo and behold" there IS a nice dining room with comfortable booths off to the left side. The decor is somewhat upscale and contemporary. Frosted waved glass, wood, maroon paint, etc. Food ranged from pizza to Italian to seafood... I had a "surf and turf" of fried oysters with a half rack of ribs, fries, cole slaw, and house salad for $19.95. My friends had salmon, and shrimp scampi, Â and they both said they were very good, and neither could finish the large portion. Waitress was pleasant and efficient, although maybe we would have enjoyed a little more personality from her. Â I am withholding the fifth star because it would have been even nicer if the entrees were all $5 less expensive. Â I mean it's in line with Cape Cod prices BUT I would go back sooner if the food were a little less expensive. Dinner for three with one drink each, tax, and tip was $94. Appetizers seemed to be all $8 and $9... we didn't order any. Â There were a surprising number of people there for a rainy tuesday night in January... a pretty diverse crowd ranging from single guys at the bar to a large group of retirees, and a Mom with a young daughter with a glowing magic wand. Â So the night did have some magic!
Review Source:Wow, what a disappointment. I absolutely LOVE the Lost Dog Pub in Dennis. My favorite item is the Fried Oyster Po' Boy, but their whole menu is great.
This place does NOT measure up. Do the guys in Dennis know how lousy it is? It's ruining their reputation. The dining area in back is exactly the same as every other mediocre "family restaurant" you've ever been to. The menu is unrecognizable to anybody expecting something like the Dennis location, I couldn't find a single one of the items I love (expect a burger...but I doubt it's as good as the other place). This is a completely different restaurant, and it looks like it's competing with Friendly's...except with a bar.
My steak was just awful. My girlfriend's stew was just salty and otherwise flavorless. Y'know what? I don't even want to talk about the food any more. I hate this place. I wish they'd take the Lost Dog Pub name off it. That's all I have left to say.
Went here just before midnight to catch some last minute beers. They had a band playing some covers and a decent sound system to support them. The entire place was clean and inviting. Good blend of ages... Sorta touristy, but a mix of the town folks as well. Pizza till midnight, which I didn't take advantage of, but good to know!
Bartenders were attentive, polite and fun. Typical $4.50 for a Blue Moon or Vodka tonic. Really good spot if you're not ready to turn in for the night.
This is a second location for this restaurant, I have been here a few times and I am always impressed with the food. The service on the other hand always has a few issues. One of the times we came here as a couple they seated parties of three and four before us and stated they didnt have very many two tops. IMO this is very rude. Once again I must say that the food has made up for the service issues. Â It is traditional bar food and pizzas however they are done with aded flair. Â One such nicetie is the the roll on the Roast Beef au jus is a grilled garlic bread. This is a nice touch! the burger rolls are also buttered and grilled!
