I went to Lost Roo this morning while visiting Long Beach. We came in at about 11:25 and they had the doors open and ready to go even though they didn't open until 11:30.
We were greeted by some very friendly staff members and seated right away. I asked for an order of tots and ranch to start and it was on the table about 3 minutes later. They were crispy and tasty! The ranch tasted home made, and was VERY good. I only wish it came with a slightly larger portion of ranch.
For the main course I ordered the Smoked Steelhead Salmon Mac n Cheese, and my girlfriend ordered up the daily deal which was Halibut and chips (though she subbed fries for tots)
Again, our food was ready and on the table in what felt like maybe 10 minutes. Granted, there were only a couple of other guests, that's still some mighty quick food!
The salmon mac was awesome! Very rich and very tasty. It was topped with what looked like panko crumbs to give it a nice crunch, but it wasn't overbearing. The salmon was great, but it felt like it was sort of mostly piled up in the middle instead of spread throughout the dish. Still, no real complaints with that. I enjoyed it very much and would absolutely get it again.
The halibut was crispy and tasty as well, but it wasn't anything too terribly fancy. It came with a lemon wedge and some tasty tartar. Again, the tartar tasted somewhat home made.
Our server was awesome! I don't recall her name but she did a great job. She was there to fill up water, check up on us and get us our check quickly and often, but without being too pushy or bothersome. She was friendly and did everything just right!
Overall, my experience was fantastic and I'd recommend Lost Roo to any of my friends or anyone looking for a satisfying meal in Long Beach.
Nothing to write home about. Â
I had a burger. Â It was edible. Â
Atmosphere is not great, food is meh, overpriced.
I'm not much of a brewery/restaurant fan in general, and this conforms to my experience with them in general.
It's kind of sad when you go to a small coastal town and the restaurants could be in any mall in america.
This place was AWESOME! Â We came here on the recommendation of the visitors bureau, looking for great fish & chips. Â The service was attentive, and the food was great! Â The batter was crisp, and the fish was flaky and moist. Â Will definitely come back again on our next trip to Longbeach.
