The Lounge

How this place stays in business I just don't know; there is never anyone here. BUT the bartenders are always nice. We were there for Dickens on the Strand; they have window seats with open windows facing parade so you can have a real cocktail and enjoy the view and fresh air.

Why does Galveston not change their ordinances allowing for closed off street events to have open container rules?

Pretty much the only place to dance in Galveston, besides Buckshots which is a country bar. Not really my scene. But when I have a buzz I'll definitely dance my ass off.

I'm really shocked that it hasn't turned ghetto. I know it kinda used to be, but there's some good looking people that go here. They don't have a very strict dress code at all.

You can smoke in the front room in the left but the back is completely non smoking.

So shocked at the lack of reviews for The Lounge! C'mon Galvestonians, step up and Yelp up! This place is CRUNK.

I had a really good time here on a recent bachelorette party excursion. No, really, we had an excursion limo. Ridic. Anyway, The Lounge was our last stop after dinner and two other bars, and it was the perfect place for dancing. The DJ did a great job playing rap and hip-hop club bangers that most of us hadn't heard in a few years. I like that he was playing to the crowd, taking note of the general age range. Everyone was so excited to hear Ying Yang Twins, Ludacris, Usher, all those college memory dance songs. It wasn't the typical Top 40's, dubstep stuff these hipster kids are banging to these days. At one point, he switched to some cumbia/tejano (are those the same thing? Who knows.) which made us stop dancing, but it was cool because we just headed to the front room where the rap was still blaring. That's when having two dance rooms comes in handy.

The crowd here was live. We had a dance party with a group of college kids, met a few bachelor party groups, hit it off with other brides-to-be and ultimately ended up stumbling back to the limo sweaty and ready to call it a night. What more could you ask more in a club?
