I would have had no idea to go here if it weren't for my friends who kept raving about their food. Lucky Donuts has Thai Food? WTF, I know its very odd, but kinda charming too. I wouldnt have thought to go on my own but I gave it a shot and will definitely go back to try more of their menu!
Overall it was excellent, not the best Pad Thai I have ever had but up near the top of all the times I have eaten it, very very good. Very friendly people working there and very inexpensive as well $6-7 for a lot of food, next time you are in Elkhart redeem the whole experience of having to be in Elkhart by eating at Lucky Donuts!
I was a little apprehensive ordering Thai at a donut shop, but I have to say... "It's the Bomb"
The Spicy Pad Thai is both affordable and WOW, the portion size is huge!
Now onto the taste....
I have to say, it's like a huge flavor bomb going off in your mouth and then comes the heat. It's a lingering, but not obnoxious burn.
Great Job guys!
Donuts and pad thai under the same roof? And both are good? And its cheap? Sold!
For $5.50, you can get the medium pad Thai (which is pretty big), cooked to the spiciness you order. I went with 20 mopeders, and we all got our food within a half hour. In a shop this small, that was impressive.
And because we were there at closing, the owner gave each of us a free doughnut.
Winner!
