Came here for some lunch with the family. My parents love chinese food so we figured might as well try this place. Well that was a bad decision. Let me get to the point, there wasn't much of a selection for combination plates, we wanted more variety and didn't want to get a huge dish and end up not liking it. We all ordered combination plates, which came with soup. Our soup was accidentally sent to the table across from us, the server places two soups in front of random people and they were questioning if they also got soup with their meals... Then they proceeded to take back the soup and give it to us.... Kinda sick.
The food finally came out and it was ehhh bland. The fried rice was not that warm, making me thinking it was just sitting there for hours. The sweet and sour chicken was way to hard, over fried idk but it wasn't good. Finally the Egg for Young.. never get that, it was a disgusting. Very thick, too salty, and the gravy it came with was so disappointing it looked like package gravy. I just pushed it to the side of my plate.
Over all I wouldn't go back again, I had high hopes for Lum-Yuen.
Came here for my grandma's birthday since this is her favorite place to eat. I had never been here before. I found the decor to be old and out dated and a bit tacky. But what I really came here for was the buffet. On that area I think they were successful. The number of items to choose from wasn't that big of a selection and when we first arrived most of it was empty. However that was quickly remedied after a few minutes. For buffet food I have to say I was quite impressed with the food and found it to be quite tasty.
I would go back anytime.
