Had lunch here when in town to see the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum which is only about mile away. The restaurant is located in downtown Auburn and plenty of parking on the street, at least on a Tuesday. It is located in an old building and has rustic, bar like atmosphere. It is a microbrewery and had nice selection of beer. My wife had a raspberry beer which she really enjoyed. I had the catfish poorboy sand which which came with one side. I had the German potato salad. Both were good, but not outstanding. My wife had a large salad which was good, but so choose an Asian dressing which she loved. They make the dressing in house and contains orange, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, and ginger. We had a great waitress and overall a nice experience.
Review Source:Just bought a house in Auburn Indiana. After looking at homes, we decided to look for a place to eat. Moving from Madison WI where they had great brew pubs and diners on every corner, Mad Anthony's seemed like the perfect choice! It did not disappoint. My husband loved the great variety of brews, found one he loved and the menu had a lot of great options. My husband ordered a burger, me, a wrap. The service was friendly and quick. Their home made chips were so, so good! All of the food was really good. The downside....smoking in the bar made the whole place smell like smoke. In the past 2 years we have lived in MI, TX, and WI, none of which allows smoking in bars or restaurants. Food, service was great. Leaving there smelling like an ashtray, not so cool.
Review Source:I just went here tonight (2/26/11) for dinner with my wife and a friend. Â They shared a #3 pizza (thin crust, but prepared in a pan and piled up with sausage, green and red bell peppers, onions and cheese) ($14.95)...it was excellent!! Â I had the Jambalya on linguini $14.95)...also excellent (VERY SPICY!!). Â We didn't try any of the beers.
I did notice several people at the bar smoking, but didn't see anybody at the tables smoking. Â I thought it was no longer legal to allow smoking indoors in a public place in Indiana.
As we were leaving around 6pm, a band was setting up to play, but we didn't stick around to listen.
Good food, good service, a little pricey.
Should just say Man Anthony's not munchies. Anyway, stumbled onto this place by accident and loved the food and service. Unique selection of appetizers and nachos were crazy good. Waitress was excellent to say the least and we just enjoyed it. Older interior with a slight smoke smell but large and open and not noticeable where we were. Great Place.
Review Source:MA reminds me if several Mid-West brew houses. The original in Fort Wayne was always crowded and noisy. However, this one was on the quiet side and we could carry on a normal conversation on a Monday evening without having to shout at one another.
Started off with the Summer Wheat and then had the Auburn Ale(?) with the chicken tenders platter in between those drinks. The beer was as good as I remember when I first visited Mad Anthony in Fort Wayne over eight years ago. The chicken tenders was good and crispy and the honey mustard was tasty without being too zesty for my taste.
Service was great. Our waitress swapped out my 'slaw for extra fries without asking (thank you!).
My only grip was that they allow indoor smoking. In this day and age, indoor smoking almost seems "barbaric".
