A good experience over all. We had a Great server who was funny and attentive.  Food was average but the Ahi Tacos were surprisingly yummy and spicy. A good find  for us former folks from Cali. Bartender made wife's drinks just her Martini Specs! My gin & tonic was strong and tasty. Had a good time with friends too. A Cool Perk was the Movie Theatre was within walking distance so we had an overall great "Date Night"
Review Source:Not a really exciting place, but at least it was not busy when we wanted to watch the NBA Finals. So I guess that is a plus for us.
The food is okay. It was much better than our last visit. We stop in here when we are working in the area once a year. Everything was okay, we did not eat anything was not satisfactory. Our entire party did find the pepper jack cheese dip to be tasty.
The service is just okay as well. Since the place does not seem to be that busy, you would think the servers would be more attentive, but not really.
The plus to this place is that there are plenty of TVs, so if you are trying to watch a big game, this place will definitely have an open table for viewing.
Well, here is my first review on a tried and true 'sports bar'.
I'm not really one for the sports bar type of place,
but my lovie-kins had a work party to go to,
so I tagged along for a couple kicks.
Not only is this a sports bar,
but it's a suburb sports bar.
So, keep in mind, this is not my scene.
I'm sure Majors would get more stars from someone that's into it.
We go there right before their happy hour,
of which, I was delighted that happy hour
not only included 2 for 1 taps
but there was also a freaking FREE taco bar!!!!!!!!!!
But, my excitement faded a little when I realized
the closest thing to good beer
they had was Blue Moon or Honey Weiss.
Aaaaaaaaand the taco bar was like cat food, lettuce, and corn chips.
Bleh.
Oh, they also have a deal about all you can drink
Coors and Miller for only $7.
Yippee!!!
With the going away party,
we put down a whole heaping amount of Honey Weiss
and ordered a few apps because they were buy one get one half
during the happy hour specials.
We ended up with some Macho Nachos
and some Thai Tidbits.
The Macho Nachos were served on a pizza pan,
which is awesome,
I'm a fan of nachos, and to get a whole pizza pan of nachos is rad.
Buuuuut the cheese was already congealing when
our waitress brought them to us...so I was less stoked.
The Thai Tidbits were pretty tasty.
The meat was incredibly tender and the sauce was flavorful.
At 7pm there was bingo going on.
I got in on some of that action but didn't win any.
The man of the hour
(not my boyfriend, but the guy who the party was being thrown for)
ended up winning $200!
Pretty exciting!
Overall, I had a great time,
but I think it was more the company that I had with me
versus the bar itself.
It's not a bad bar, it's just not my thing. At all.
OH!
And funny side story:
My boyfriend was having a 'Larry David moment', as we call it,
and refused a coaster from the bar tender.
He told her that he doesn't like coasters and didn't want one.
She kind of insisted at first but he remained firm about it.
So she took his beer back,
so she could wipe it down since some beer had spilled
over the side while she was filling it from the tap.
While she was at the other end of the bar wiping the glass down,
I could hear her talking to one of the bar patrons, she said:
"it's one of my biggest pet peeves when people don't use coasters!"
And she went on about how it was "that guy over there" blah blah
I thought it was funny.
So, word to the wise.... use a coaster while at Majors.
This place is 'meh' for many reasons. Â The dining room is set up so that everyone can see 3-4 different tv's. Â Maybe they were going for a stadium style viewing of televised sports. Â It kind of comes off as a NASA central command reconfigured as a lounge. Â I get that we all want to watch sports at a sports bar, but... I prefer a bunch of televisions rather than this centralised viewing approach.
The food is very, very meh. Â The service wasn't too great either. Â The only redeeming quality that I saw was that the drinks were on special for a mere 21 cents. Â As long as they want that little, this place will still be worth going to.
I know this is the newest of the Majors bars, but it is definately lacking in the fun, sports bar feel. Â The bartenders are obviously looking for your company when you sit at the bar. Â They are a good group and try hard. Â The food doesn't seem to be as good as the other Majors either. Â All in all, it's kind of boring... only count on good company to keep you awake.
