This place used to only be 21+. Â Then it was 18+ and then I heard they're letting people in that are younger. Really? Well obviously I can't be going back here. It just seems awkward, but I wish they would have kept it strictly 21+, because I won't have some kid trying to hit on me. Â Even when it was 18+ and up, the clientele likes getting a little too "handsy" or whatever else. Â I've definitely outgrown this place, and I've moved on to Too Much Love night at First Ave.
Review Source:I checked this place out because I had heard it mentioned a couple times in passing and thought, heck why not. The building is incredibly cool and the place could be fantastic if it weren't for the patrons. A friend of mine and I went to dance, and when we got there it the dance floor was about half full so we got drinks, checked out the place (did I mention the site is fantastic?) and then went down to dance.
Once we got out on the dance floor it only took about a minute before we had people coming up and wanting to dance with us and the guys didn't want to take no for an answer. We kept having to tell people to leave us alone and that we weren't dancing with anyone. Really, my impression was that the place was full of 18-20 year olds who were more interested in finding people to grind on versus dance. (btw I'm 27 and my friend is 24).
Its really too bad, the place seems like it could be so awesome.
Final opinion -
Fantastic physical location, however if you aren't looking to grind and/or hook up with a bunch of 18-20 year olds, go somewhere else.
Not sure i want to admit i came here. My boyfriend's football team won their Semi Pro Championship game and one of the players is a bouncer so we got a private room with food and a bar so the team could celebrate.
Let me start off saying the place is huge and if it wasn't for the normal crowd (see Oliver S.'s review he hits the nail on the head) the building alone would make a great space for a club, giant bathrooms and tall ceilings and in the upper floors you can look over the dance floor because there are balconies all the way around.
The bar service was hit or miss with who was helping you, and the crowd just wasn't my style but if you like clubbing you might want to check it out, there were lots of people, adequate street parking, small cover charge, and free coat check. All in all, still not my scene but it was alright, especially with the private room where our friends were and we didn't have to mingle in the mosh pit below.
