The Manor House Restaurant

We had high hopes in celebrating our son's 21st birthday there last night. First clue things were no going well was a phone call the day of the reservation telling us we were moved to the Carriage House due to an event. Second clue, the Carriage House door was wide open allowing insects and critters to join us for dinner. Third clue was the staff in unkempt disheveled clothing, still I hoped the chef would rise above and send out delectable food. We were not so lucky. From the taster to the main everything was over cooked. One in our party ordered her steak medium rare and it came out well done. My fish was over cooked and the broth was distasteful. We were so far removed from the action that I could not find the staff when we wanted our bill. I did like the country side, but that was not to the credit of the restaurant. The things they did have control over were poorly managed. It is a shame, because we were looking for an upscale restaurant to frequent, but we will not be returning here.

Spectacular and romantic dinning experience.

Beautiful building, lovely blazing fireplace, excellent service. Just don't go there to eat.

Beet and goat cheese salad bland, and not as described. Where were the pecans?
Crab cake disguised as a salt lick, inedible, sent it back.
Scallops awful, one wrapped with flaccid bacon.
My daughter's entree, lamb chop was quite good.
Lovely dessert, chocolate sorbet.
Cold coffee.

All this for $185

Never again.
