This one's a no brainer. Awesome food, awesome ambience, awesome service. People drive from all over to visit this place. Sometimes there can be as long as an hour wait or more to eat here, totally worth it. I really don't like pancakes in general but I love them here! I think the ham and pancakes is the best choice. Don't love the sausage. Wish bacon was an option. Too bad this place is only open a few months a year!
Review Source:I can't believe Cartwright's only has one review, even if it is in such an out of the way location. It's been owned and operated by the same family since 1963. They serve :::unlimited::: and :::awesome::: buckwheat pancakes all day long, closed on Mondays. They have been making their own maple syrup since 1913. If for some unknown reason you don't want pancakes you can get a burger, sandwich or a hot dog, cooked and simmered in, yes, maple suryp!
They are **only** open from :::mid-February through mid-April:::, maple tapping season. Sometimes there is a long line to get in but the place is huge and it moves fast. They have it down to a science, without making you feel rushed. They do not take credit cards but have an ATM in the gift shop in the litte lobby area.
The people are very, very friendly, the pancakes are to die for. What more can you ask? I drove 6 hours and I'll do it again next year!
The area is a little GPS challenged but their web site has detailed directions and maps. But I was able to find the nearest intersection on my GPS when I put in Allen, New York instead of Angelica, after putting in the zip code. Work with your GPS. It's your friend!
This place is awesome!!!
the line to get in is very long, but goes by very fast. its a very cozy place. they are known for there buckwheat pancakes. They are very tasty. This place is an all you can eat pancake house. You can order Pancakes with meat, or eggs, or meat and eggs, and all orders are all you can eat buckwheat pancakes. they are served with their homemade 100% maple syrup. There is a little shop inside the restaurant, which is pretty nifty and neat. This place is only open during the maple syrup season, so they must be doing something right, and they are!!!! you get to watch the cooks make your pancakes on a flat top which is also real cool.
