My family of 3 adults showed up a little past 8, hoping to safely avoid the Storyland crowd. We were seated immediately. My parents both ordered margaritas, which were phenomenal, as well as appetizers. Our server was not sure if the special appetizer (stuffed banana peppers) was still available, but went back into the kitchen and reserved the last one for us. A lucky thing, as well, as it was incredible and my dad had to physically restrain himself from licking the plate. My mom's soup was equally delicious. While we were ordering, my mom realized she had forgotten her glasses (a common occurrence). Our server provided one of the free pairs they have available, which was such a lovely thing. One issue I did have - there were 2 air conditioning units and 3 fans on to cool a relatively small space. I was bloody freezing the entire meal...
For entrees, my mom got chicken enchiladas, my dad got fish tacos and I got blackened tilapia. As a pescatarian, I was delighted by the number of choices I had, though vegetarians would do equally well. All 3 of us very much enjoyed our meals. My mom could only finish half of it, and was delighted to get an entire meal to take home. My tilapia was one of the best pieces of fish I've had - the blackened thing was so phenomenal, I was disappointed when I finished my (generous) piece. Thankfully, the honey-rum black beans were the best beans I've ever eaten, and the grape currant salad (?) was finger-lickin good.
Overall, my entire family very much enjoyed our night out. Beatifully prepared, upscale Mexican with attentive service and plenty of options for everyone. Our bill, for 6 margaritas, 2 appetizers and 3 entrees was about 130 dollars, with tip.
We've been going here on and off for years and while we have definitely had some subpar experiences in the past our last few visits were really good. Â
I've never had a bad margarita here, even in the subpar days. Â The fresh squeezed lime margaritas I had yesterday were stellar. Â Chips and salsa are complimentary and tasty. Â We also ordered the large guacamole and for $4.50 it was a steal. Â It was huge, made to order, delicious and would have cost double at home. Â Â
I agree the prices on the regular dinner menu are a little higher than the Mexican restaurants at home. Â They are concentrating their efforts on local, fresh, farm to table ingredients and going green. Â I am willing to pay a few dollars more for that. Â
I had the chicken fajita burrito lunch special. Â It came with cornbread and my choice of side for $9.95, definitely a good deal. Â I chose the side salad that wasn't your run of the mill salad. Â It had pepitas, dried currants and a very tasty fajita vinaigrette. Â Â
My husband gave his salmon fajitas a thumbs up.
If you are looking for quality Southwestern food in the Conway area, this is the place to go.
The food here is great! Â Everything is fresh and flavorful. Â I Almost always get the salmon fajitas and have never been disappointed. Â I've also had the Lemon chicken over penne which is delicious. For dessert the apple pie chimichanga is insanely good!! Â
The waitstaff is always friendly and usually attentive.
The parking lot is a problem. If not for this I would give them 5 stars. There is little lighting in the lot and absolutely none in the back portion of the lot. I was there on Saturday night and ruined an $89.00 pair of boots when I exited my car and stepped in a massive amount of mud. Due to no lighting, I was unable to find safer ground to walk on and possibly avoid not only ruining my boots, but getting cold, wet and thick globs of mud on my pants.
I understand that it is mud season, but perhaps the lot should be paved or at least add some lighting so I can decide if the meal is worth ruining boots and clothing. Had I seen what I was stepping in I would have gone elsewhere.
