My family of 3 adults showed up a little past 8, hoping to safely avoid the Storyland crowd. We were seated immediately. My parents both ordered margaritas, which were phenomenal, as well as appetizers. Our server was not sure if the special appetizer (stuffed banana peppers) was still available, but went back into the kitchen and reserved the last one for us. A lucky thing, as well, as it was incredible and my dad had to physically restrain himself from licking the plate. My mom's soup was equally delicious. While we were ordering, my mom realized she had forgotten her glasses (a common occurrence). Our server provided one of the free pairs they have available, which was such a lovely thing. One issue I did have - there were 2 air conditioning units and 3 fans on to cool a relatively small space. I was bloody freezing the entire meal...
For entrees, my mom got chicken enchiladas, my dad got fish tacos and I got blackened tilapia. As a pescatarian, I was delighted by the number of choices I had, though vegetarians would do equally well. All 3 of us very much enjoyed our meals. My mom could only finish half of it, and was delighted to get an entire meal to take home. My tilapia was one of the best pieces of fish I've had - the blackened thing was so phenomenal, I was disappointed when I finished my (generous) piece. Thankfully, the honey-rum black beans were the best beans I've ever eaten, and the grape currant salad (?) was finger-lickin good.
Overall, my entire family very much enjoyed our night out. Beatifully prepared, upscale Mexican with attentive service and plenty of options for everyone. Our bill, for 6 margaritas, 2 appetizers and 3 entrees was about 130 dollars, with tip.
We've been going here on and off for years and while we have definitely had some subpar experiences in the past our last few visits were really good. Â
I've never had a bad margarita here, even in the subpar days. Â The fresh squeezed lime margaritas I had yesterday were stellar. Â Chips and salsa are complimentary and tasty. Â We also ordered the large guacamole and for $4.50 it was a steal. Â It was huge, made to order, delicious and would have cost double at home. Â Â
I agree the prices on the regular dinner menu are a little higher than the Mexican restaurants at home. Â They are concentrating their efforts on local, fresh, farm to table ingredients and going green. Â I am willing to pay a few dollars more for that. Â
I had the chicken fajita burrito lunch special. Â It came with cornbread and my choice of side for $9.95, definitely a good deal. Â I chose the side salad that wasn't your run of the mill salad. Â It had pepitas, dried currants and a very tasty fajita vinaigrette. Â Â
My husband gave his salmon fajitas a thumbs up.
If you are looking for quality Southwestern food in the Conway area, this is the place to go.
The food here is great! Â Everything is fresh and flavorful. Â I Almost always get the salmon fajitas and have never been disappointed. Â I've also had the Lemon chicken over penne which is delicious. For dessert the apple pie chimichanga is insanely good!! Â
The waitstaff is always friendly and usually attentive.
The parking lot is a problem. If not for this I would give them 5 stars. There is little lighting in the lot and absolutely none in the back portion of the lot. I was there on Saturday night and ruined an $89.00 pair of boots when I exited my car and stepped in a massive amount of mud. Due to no lighting, I was unable to find safer ground to walk on and possibly avoid not only ruining my boots, but getting cold, wet and thick globs of mud on my pants.
I understand that it is mud season, but perhaps the lot should be paved or at least add some lighting so I can decide if the meal is worth ruining boots and clothing. Had I seen what I was stepping in I would have gone elsewhere.
After all these years driving by, I finally stopped on Saturday night with some friends and awesome experience! The waitress was great, we had called a few minutes ahead and got a table right when we arrived. We got a variety of food and drinks and everything was delicious. The ribs are def. award winning. I'll be back again next weekend.
Review Source:The margaritas were strong and delicious.
The salad -- grilled beets, parsnips, and carrots with blue cheese and almonds -- was one of the best things I've eaten in a long time.
The BBQ chimichanga was okay -- a bit sweet and the fried part was soggy.
My waitress, Camie, was attentive and accommodating. Â Great place. Â Love the reading glasses provided for old folks!
Love love loveee this place!!! Â After a long day of skiing this is me & the boy's spot to go!! Best Margarita's I've ever had (And i've had a lot :) ) the consistency is perfect I always get them frozen and they are never too icy or too watery. Plenty of flavors to choose so your never bored. The food is excellent as well I like to try something different each time. Â One thing though after eating inside your clothes bang like food its weird but a great place. Oh and the lava wings are bomb a must try!
Review Source:I'm not sure what to make of the negative reviews, as our experience was excellent.
The staff was cheerful and helpful without being underfoot.
My wife had a side salad that she thinks is one of the best salads she has had. Â Her main entree of baked haddock was absolutely delicious. Â I had a Tex-Mex taco salad with spicy beef. Â The only thing wrong, it was more than I could eat.
It was more expensive than what I'm use to as a Midwesterner ... But on par with other restaurants I have visited in the area given the quality of the food and service.
We also spoke with the table of four next to us and they raved about their meals.
The one knock is their chips and salsa are not up to the same standard as the rest of their fare.
As a few other reviewers mentioned, this is not Chili's or a southwestern tex mex restaurant. Â They do have a varied menu so I you prefer Norte Americana, they have something for you too.
the candy apple ribs were to die for. Â I liked the fact that our meal took hours, as we were in no rush. Â There was plenty of time between courses. Â Our drinks were quite expensive ($25 for two), but high quality. Â The one downer was that the refried beans arrived barely warm. Â Other than that, the food was great, service friendly, and atmosphere relaxed.
Review Source:I am downgrading from a previous review ( must have been on another site...) of 4.5 stars. Â My wife and I Â been going back to Margarita Grill for 4-5 yeas now - this past weekend was a letdown for one reason and one reason alone: Â Value. Â The first observation I made was the house Margaritas had increased in price by around $3 ( I suppose this keeps the heavy drinkers to a minimum...) from this past winter. Â The prices overall had increased around 10-15% ... the quality of food was very average ( BBQ Pulled Pork Nachos, some forgettable vegetable and shrimp/chicken, with overdone shrimp/chicke). Â On a positive note, I would order the short Ribs again, very good. Â The selction of Moat beers was very good as well. Â I regretted the 2 stars , but next time we are in area ( we visit Grand Summit 4-5 times a year.) we will venture a little further into JAckson or North Conway for our Margaria and Mex food fix...
Review Source:I've been to this place twice this year, and I like it. The fresh lime margaritas are delish. Not a fan of the chips or the salsa; I don't know why they're so bad. Like other reviewers, I thought the chips tasted stale. First visit, we just had drinks and apps, all pretty good. Rowdy, older crowd at the bar, good bar tender, friendly staff. Second time around we had dinner, and my fish tacos were AMAZING. I ate them a week ago and am still thinking about how good they were. I had the 2 tilapia-filled soft tacos, and they were huge. The sauce was delicious, and the fruity salsa that came on the side tasted great. Based on the fish tacos alone, I'd give this place 5 stars, but my hubby thought his combo plate was kind of blah. He did like the black beans a lot. The place is a real dive on the inside, kind of dark and dingy. Our waitress was one of the best waitresses we've ever had. It seems really family-friendly, which was kind of annoying because there were noisy kids all around us, but maybe that's our fault for going at 5:30 pm. There's a patio out back but we haven't sat outside yet. In my opinion, N. Conway area is really lacking good restaurants, and this is one of the few places I'd return to. Despite the dingy interior and bad chips, I'd go back for the food and margaritas.
Review Source:The experience was very disappointing on many levels. We waited one hour for an order of ribs and a bean fajita. The ribs were overdone, the glaze was not prepared correctly (pieces of sugar had not been melted) and the side of fries were very overdone. The beans were undercooked in the bean fajita. The Aztec Rice did have a good flavor and was prepared correctly; however, the rice was not good enough to warrants return to this restaurant.
Review Source:We had an amazing meal here. Â We sat at the bar and Kevin the bar tender was great. Â I had a root vegetable salad, with blackened salmon and my wife had chicken quesadillas. Â Everything wad perfectly cooked. Â My salad and salmon was one of the best meals I have had in quite a while. Â We will definitely come here again.
Review Source:We stopped in early for an app and a drink. Â I like the bar side with the natural wood and several high tables. Â The beer selections were right up my alley, good choices and varieties. Â We had the Breckenridge vanilla porter which I loved just a hint of vanilla without that smokey flavor you get in some porters. Â We also tried the fried calamari which seemed like they came out the freezer, Â way too much batter and was overly garlicky.
Review Source:Great contemporary interpretation of mexican/southwest cooking with an emphasis on "farm-to-table." The atmosphere is a bit dark, may even a bit dingy, but the food is fresh and tasty. The service was fantastic - our waitress had a really great understanding of the menu and was very helpful in helping us select tasty entrees.
The don Julio margarita was excellent - albeit the most expensive on the list at $18 - it was served straight up in a large martini glass, the tequila was mixed with gran mariner and fresh lime juice. no sugary sour mix.
My entree, fish tacos ($16(, consisted of 2 large soft shell tacos with generous portions of pan blackened haddock filets. There was a small amount of cheese and some carrot slaw. It came with a choice of side, but the blackbeans were fantastic. I also had a side of "lava sauce" which is flavored with the very hot scotch bonnet pepper - it was hot, real hot, and awesome. Many items on the menu can be ordered "fit style" which reduces the calorie and fat count. My wife had a grilled vegetable burrito and a side salad. Both were very good.
This place is NOT Chili's - if you're looking for typical, mass produced american-mexicancuisine, this is not your restaurant. If you're looking for fresh interpretations on southwestern food using high quality ingredients, you won't be disappointed.
I try to eat here every time I am skiing near Glen NH. I really love this place. The food is always great and the wait staff is freindly and prompt. I love there salads, their big and tasty, plus being able to add a fresh piece of salmon or steak is a great addition to the meal. The bar is on the small side but the drinks are tasty and the bartenders are prompt. Its a hopping place on the weekend during ski season so get there early or there may be a wait. Dont miss out on some good Mexicsan food if your in the area.
Review Source:Terrible terrible terrible all around.
We had a party of 8. (4 couples). We sat at a miniscule uncomfortable table surrounded by workers here who just continued to literally stare and stare at us the whole time. and then stare some more. It was bizarre and uncomfortable.
We asked to each have separate tabs as couples- I know it's an inconvenience for waitresses, but none of us carry cash, so if we ask, please don't give us lip about it... She did. I asked if the issue was the 18% automatic gratuity and she said yes and if we would have that attached to each of our bills, she could split them... Listen, girl, we ALWAYS tip 20% or more for decent service. Now that you insisted on the 18% thing, that's all you'll be getting. Good thing too, because the service here was terrible.
Everything on the menu was overpriced and not appetizing. We got free chips that were oversalted and stale with the most disgusting excuse for salsa I have ever had. Â I ordered the single chicken tacos that were $4 each. Taco Bell is better than these disgusting things. Again, stale tortilla probably Old El Paso Brand with what seemed like canned chicken. I asked for sour cream, but never got it until my last bite.
The Mr. got a grilled chicken sandwich that was wet and inedible. Wendy's is better.
Then it took forever for everything and when I got my bill I saw a charge for "2 Raw Onions"- $2.00
I questioned the charge and then she said she made a mistake, left to fix it, came back 10 minutes later and said she can't so she just deducted $2 from my total... NOT OK. I was taxed on that full amount, plus her greedy 18% gratuity thing, so in essence I was overcharged for my meal. You'd better believe I only left that 18%.
poor food, poor service, poor attitudes, and overall poor everything. I wish 0 stars was an option.
We were staying in Attitash for a long weekend getaway and I had been itching for a margarita, so we decided to visit Margarita Grill and see what they had. Â The food was okay, but what stuck out the most was my first margarita. Â I don't know how they made it, but it was very difficult to get through, and mind you, I make my own margaritas with no-name tequila, and even those pass my taste test.
I decided to try one more drink and was pleasantly surprised. Â It was named an Almond Joy something or other and was a fantastic chocolate based drink.
All in all, if you're in the mood for mexican, and aren't real picky, this place will work for you. Â Unfortunately, the only thing I can remember clearly is my poor margarita.
If you are visiting Attitash for the weekend I recommend kicking off your getaway with a Friday night trip to Margarita Grill. Previously named Margaritaville, the restaurant is better remembered as a bar with great drinks, familiar faces and a foggy recollection of the "last time" you were there...much thanks to tequila and the bottomless chips that make you think you're actually eating. Their Cadillac Margarita is your best bet here, and depending on who's pouring I highly recommended capping your order at two per person. Otherwise you might not make it to the slopes the next day. Trust me on this one. Sit bar-side if you can. It is more fun.
In recent years Margarita Grill has attempted to shift their image to attract a family audience, with seeming success. The dining room is sectioned off to suit party people and families alike. They have a childrens menu, specials and great deserts. I keep it light with the soft shell taquito, but if given the opportunity, will dive face first into the chocolate mud pie thing that isn't listed on their online menu.
Moving from paper menus and mason jars the now laminated menus and tradition margarita glasses will comfort out of town'ers in believing this is a chain but this is a family owned and run business.
The food is not too bad, but not that great. I had a chicken burrito that had nicely tender chicken in it, but not a ton of flavor. The biggest drawback is that the prices are insanely high! My chicken burrito, which was not huge or anything, was $14.95. $14.95! For a burrito! Sure, it came with a side of rice, but it was bad rice. The cornbread was okay, but still! $14.95! For a burrito! Margaritas were good, but also expensive, although to be fair, they were no more expensive than you'd pay in the Boston area.
All in all, it was a fairly disappointing experience.
Ok, so you arent going to think you're in Mexico, but I've eaten in more expensive restaurants in the greater Boston area that werent nearly as good. I went in not expecting much and the chips and salsa weren't  a great start. The chips are cold and the salsa is out of a bottle but dont let that steer you away.  There are freshly made specials that are worthy of the trip and the mexican food is better than average. Service was prompt and friendly and the price was easy to take. It can definitly get crowded and I dont know if I would wait longer than 15-20 minnutes but its pretty decent.
Review Source:Excellent food, great drinks. Atmosphere is casual and waiting time can be quite long if holiday time, long weekend. I tried this place few times a year, always great food: blackened tilapia, ribs, fajitas. Excellent taste, price is moderate, nice atmosphere.

This place looked familiar and when I stepped inside I remembered it was the place with the slowest service ever. Since there was no hurry we tried it. Service was good except we never got the next round of drinks. The food is Ok at best, meat is spiced an salsa is chunky onion type. Won't make this mistake again.
Review Source:I am surprised by all of the negative reviews of this place. Â I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious my meal tasted. Â Initially, I thought it was going to be mediocre at best as the chips and salsa were nothing special. Â I moved on and had a Mexican coffee drink which was very tasty and put me in a good mood. Â I followed this up with their vegetarian quesadilla with no cheese. Â The veggies were perfectly cooked and the best part of my meal was the spicy basil dip that came on the side. Â It tasted so good that my husband and I asked for the recipe; we didn't expect to get it but we did, along with a complementary take out cup filled with it. Â My husband was very impressed by his meal, but was mostly excited by the owner's homemade hot sauce which evidently has won awards in Texas. Â
I am from Boston and I am a fan of well executed Mexican food- this was just that. Â I would recommend this restaurant to my friends.
I think I liked this place better when it was Margaritaville. Since it changed names, I have found the food to be rather bland and the service just so-so. Drinks are still ok, but probably not worth going just for that. When I'm in the area, I tend to prefer the Red Parka or the Moat Mountain Smokehouse these days for food and drink.
Review Source:Not sure what happened to this place! Â Been eating and drinking there for years. Â The prices have risen drastically, the portions got smaller. Â Our Server was nice enough to tell us that that everything is precooked and microwaved. Â I ordered a side of spicy con caso... Â $8 for a small ramekin and a handful of chips, and it was cold and lumpy at that! Â There also seems to be a whole new set of waiters/bartenders, an bunch of young girls stood at the waiters stand and chatted for the entire time during our meal... Â Â I'm sorry to say, but this will be the last time I eat here. Â Might stop for drinks, but will never order food.
Review Source:The Margarita is the sort of tex-mex spot up in the North Conway area. Keep in mind as you roll up that you are in New Hampshire, not the South West so you won't see any faux adobe --- ok? My preference is to sit at the bar and eat when I travel (usually) because I find that the bartenders are really attentive and friendly so I wont have to deal with hit or miss service. Well we went in on a Friday night and the spot was jam packed with locals (this being a crappy ski season, no out of towners around) and everybody was really nice to us. They offer some primo tequila's and have some cool looking margaritas, which I avoided b/c I was driving. We also skipped the standard tex/mex ap's in favor of higher price entrees. The prices were a little high, I paid $25 for a steak but it was a whopper NY strip nice and juicy, well seasoned with a salad and two sides. Worth the price, and the wait was not bad at all. The bartender was awesome as a server as well and went out of her way to make sure we had all the necessities.
