Last night I brought out-of-town friends to Mill Valley's 142 Throckmorton Theatre for Mark Pitta & Friends Tuesday Night Comedy and they were so amazed at the caliber of talent they vowed to make the trip back next month for another show. The lineup is never announced so you have no idea who will be performing -  new comedians never having performed at the Throck or comedy greats - you are guaranteed a very entertaining show.  Last night LA's Rick Overton was joined on stage by good friend Robin Williams for some improv and hilarious interaction with the audience.  Dana Gould also performed, and when you top that off with charming host Mark Pitta, you can't find better comedy at any price. Mark has been doing this show at the Throck for almost eight years, and he never disappoints.  I highly recommend Mark Pitta & Friends any week of the year, but there is something pretty special about a balmy summer night in a beautiful theatre filled with happy, laughing people...the feel-good endorphins are bouncing off the walls!

Laughed my ASS off!  To me this is the cheapest form of therapy in the world.  Where else can you find headliners for relatively inexpensive tickets?  I have gone a few times.  The first time was amazing and the second time was just good!  Either way its a great place to go on a Tuesday night.

Mark is always funny and very up to date on topics.  I think he makes the evening as he controls the flow of the comedians.  Mark Pita Rocks!!!

Love it and can't wait to go back!

Tuesday night... not quite the hell that is Monday night, with the rest of the week's work days lined up before you like bricks you have to knock down before you can get to the weekend.  Tuesday night... not quite the hump day that Wednesday night is, with the weekend clearly in sight and the nice slide into Friday on the horizon.  Tuesday night... what to do on a Tuesday night in Marin?

Well, Mark Pitta has an incredibly good thing going on over there in Mill Valley:  A huge line-up of comedians that rifle through their acts one after the other, piling on laugh after laugh after laugh.  The other night, they featured 6 comedians + Mark Pitta (emcee/host/comedian) without a single dud in the group.

Advance tickets are $15, $20 at the door on the day of the show, or $25 for reserved seating.  Though the theater isn't too big, reserved seating is nice as you can arrive close to show-time and still land a prime spot.

Beer, wine, popcorn, and cookies are on sale in the lobby.  The show starts at 8 p.m. and is ends around 10:30.  Laughter is always good... see you next Tuesday.

Tonight I laughed harder than I have in so long. My face hurts from all the laughing. The combination of Robin Williams, Dana Carvey, Sean Morey and numerous other entertaining comedians was incredible. Thanks to Mark Pitta for putting together such a hilarious group.

Tuesday night comedy is a great show!  I've been 50 plus times.  Only weakness with the show is the emcee, Mark Pitta.  Sometimes he is funny- but usually he just fills up time.  It would be better if he strictly introduced the comedians, and did not try to be funny.

I have been to over 20 Tuesday night comedy with Mark Pitta and friends. I have never once been disappointed and many times surprised by the caliber of comedy and the long list of famous stars to cross the stage. I am grateful for the chance to have such a treasure to go to and such a great comedy night in my area.

I cant believe there are only 2 reviews here. I have been going on tuesdays for almost 5 years now, pretty regularly. I can only think of a couple of shows out of maybe 200 that have not been very good to AMAZING. Mark is a great talent as a comic & host & he brings us the famous & talented on a consistent basis. I am always surprised when I find locals who have never gone...or even ones that have not heard of it (although that's fewer & fewer).
    It's a bargain & a sure thing for a fun night out!
Even the comics constantly talk about what a great place it is to play.

    Everyone should laugh at least once a day . . . . .

On Tuesday's Mark Pitta's comedian line-up at the Throckmorton is all you need to satisfy that itch.

Now, if they could just get the seating a little more comfortable they might have a real hit!

    I admit I am biased--I am a comedienne and I perform occassionally at Pitta's show.  I am a Pitta-phile.  Bahahahahaha!!! Get it?

You know what they say--ain't no party like a Mill Valley party! I love the crowds, the wine, the comedians who perform there...you never know who's going to show up.  Robin Williams, Dana Carvey. . . me.  Ladies, I strongly suggest parking by the fire department.  Mill Valley has some hot firemen!!! This is one of my favorite venues for comedy in the Bay Area and if you haven't been there yet, put it on your list of things to do.
