John Chapman

John was awesome to work with. He drove about 3 hours from his home to play at our family gatherting. He was not just on time, but early, and was well set-up before we even arrived. He is an extremely talented guitarist, and the music was perfect for a group ranging in age from 1 to 90. I highly recommend John and will book him again without hesitation.

John accompanied me on guitar (I played bass) at Book Passage. He arrived early, was easy going and plain old fun to play with. That boy can rock! I highly recommend him for any event.

I was looking for someone to play guitar during my wedding ceremony in Napa Valley and found John Chapman on Yelp. He had great reviews so I connected with him to see if he was available for my wedding day. He  gave me a heads up that he also had someone else inquiring on the same day and  to call ASAP. I immediately called him in order to secure a booking. He said I was first in line to call back and he would be happy to play at my wedding. John  mentioned he liked to perform two hour gigs. I was only interested in booking him for just an hour during the ceremony. He tried to make a deal with me in terms of price to play longer through cocktail hour. He also wrote in his email,  "One hour is fine too, but I thought I would throw that out there to help and also because my Sept is starting to book up." This was strange to me because even if I booked one or two hours, it shouldn't affect his booking since he agreed to play on my wedding day!?

Therefore, I followed up on an email to discuss specifics and confirm one hour booking time. He finally agreed  and was "supposedly" working on the contract. I followed up with him via email on the contract and did not hear back for a couple of days. He mentioned that all of a sudden he was "unexpectedly"  busy. A few days later I received a phone call from him saying he double booked and got the dates wrong. I found out he misjudged the date by exactly a month!!! Obviously, he is not very organized. Now I am on  the search for a new guitarist to play one month prior to my wedding!

Overall, I wanted to relay the message that John is very unprofessional and is looking just for your money. I would NOT recommend him for any occasion! Do not waste your time.
