This place is more fun for a younger crowd. It's a shame that it's the only country bar in the area. I understand they are trying to accommodate everyone but the dance floor gets taken over by the younger crowd at a certain point and the older crowd seems to get pushed towards the bar. A fun place but I'd recommend other country bars I've been to instead.

Really cool spot.  My wife, Hellen, and I had a blast here.  Bartenders were friendly, and they had Beer Can Chicken!  It was delicious, and only $10.  Check out Mavericks!

Started off with food. If I can even call it that no good. Don't recommend that stuff to inmates. The bar is a joke out if most beers. Line dancing was not the issue the place is dead and it's in the boons of Santa Rosa save the gas and go down town. Also a cover and I am here for dinner. I recommend going any where but here.

really? really? really? really? really? how the hell is this place considered a bar and or nightclub? I'm not going to go on and on but this place is horrible. Music, food, drinks, staff all suck ass!! I wasn't much of a fan of Kodiak Jacks but KJ's was a billion times better than this sorry excuse of a venue!

I love this place, it's not kodiaks so people need to stop comparing the two places. I love the friends I have made there and the staff are all really friendly to me. They have a smoking section in the back so the front doesn't look trashy with all the cigarette buts on the ground. Thursdays and Saturdays are usually very packed and I love it because I get to watch all the line dancing. They have a dance team called them mavericks girls that know pretty much all of them and most of the girls will actually get out there with you and help you. The bar/wait staff is hilarious and always acknowledge me when I walk up even if it's just satin it'll be a couple minutes. The security staff are all very nice once you get to know them, I thought they were intimidating(even the girls) at first but I guess that's just part of their job. Both the djs take eveyone requests into consideration and try very hard to play them. But this places makes me feel at home and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good time.

The wraps are delicious and the Jamaican Jerk chicken pizza is awesome! Friendly staff doesn't hurt either!

All line dancing, with hip hop at 11:30 on the saturday i was there.  If you don't know the dances, you sit out the evening.
It says  top country 40 but for anybody who is a country music fan, they know that it is not current OR past top 40.
no second dance floor as advertised
    it has a warehouse atmosphere.
last but not least, weak bar drinks.  I am a better dancer than drinker but I thought if i couldn't dance I could at least get a little buzz (usually one or two will do it), but even that was a disappointment.

Friends and I are looking for a real country bar in Sonoma or surrounding counties.  please help!

Mavericks (and Kodiak Jack's before it) has more enthusiastic DJs and a friendlier, more welcoming bunch of regulars than any of the other line dancing establishments I've been to throughout California, which includes (but is not limited to) The Graduate in Davis and Cowboy Country in Long Beach. Some of the more challenging dances (e.g. Moves Like Jagger, Country Girl Shake It For Me, Black Ice) make for a great aerobic workout set when played all in a row!

Back in April I started going to Kodiak Jacks for line dancing night pretty much every week. I loved the vibe, and it felt much like a low key, hole in the wall, type of country bar, but was also a lot of fun for college kids looking for top 40 type dance music. They closed up, moved to Santa Rosa and re-named it Mavericks. This place is ok. Still has the line dancing and dance music, but I'm not a fan of the feel of the place. It feels a lot more like a club instead of a bar, which seems like that is what they were going for. It definitely is a fun place. They have mixed up the music to the dances a bit and brought in some AC/DC and others. Personally I liked the feel of KJs better, but I'm still gonna be here just about every week. The people are welcoming, the DJs play good stuff (DJ Ryan is a lot better than DJ Fly), good drinks, and good food.

I miss Kodiak Jack's, but Mavericks is pretty awesome. Bigger dance floor, security to keep people not dancing off the floor :), better booths...the only suggestions I have are 1) more fans over the dance floor!!! It gets REALLY hot with only one fan. 2) I know it's supposed to be a pizza place, but more food selections would be amazing. At least some burgers. 3) a pool table on the 21+ side.
