  The only real place to go dancing in SC... but it's way too smokey inside. And the restrooms are really dirty.
  
  There's lot of room to dance upstairs and the DJ/music usually is pretty good.
  
  The last time we try to go in June, they were shut down due to underage drinking.

  The Mezz keeps getting better and better.
  
  When it was the Cellblock, I never came here. It just always seemed kind of sketchy, dirty and incredibly smoky when they allowed it in there.
  
  Fast forward a year! The DJs are phenomenal...great mix of House/Dance/Top 40 stuff. Never feels too packed, drinks are strong and bartenders are speedy. Make sure you go see Tee upstairs for the best drinks :)

  I feel like this is one of the more underrated spots in town.
  
  It's really the only competition to Indigo as far as night clubs/dance spots. Personally, I think the Mezzanine has way better lights than Indigo. They have really cool lasers and strobe lights. The DJ is usually better too. I'm a big electro/house head and this place plays a lot. I've been there before when it was mostly rap (not too much my thing), but the rap DJs are still good too (skill/technique wise).
  
  The place has a bar on the top and a bar on the bottom. They used to have Heineken on tap which was really awesome! Otherwise, they usually have the standard $2 Bud Lights.
  
  The bouncers are not douches either. I got kicked out a few weeks ago for being (admittedly) too drunk, but the bouncer was nice about it and actually gave me some coupons for free cover.
  
  The only negative things I can say about this are that sometimes the crowd seems a little shady. I don't know what makes them shady, its just a vibe. Also, this is like the only place I know where you can still smoke inside so it gets a little smoky inside.
  
  Other than that, the Mezzanine is a pretty fun night out.

  Fun, lots of lights, good music.
  Go when Karis is there. :-)
  Hosted Lloyd Banks when he came through town as well as a few other people.
  
  Imposes a dress code and often has sorority night etc.
