The decor inside was refreshingly not your standard strip mall Mexican place that is so brightly colored. There are cool stone arches surrounding the inner seating area which has a beautiful water fountain in the center.
Everything was delicious. We had the three enchiladas with one each of shredded chicken, shredded beef and guacamole. Each one had its own sauce which very well complimented them. The interesting side dishes were amazing - pappas (mashed potatoes with delicious seasoning, and spinach in a light cream sauce. These sides are a must try.
Service was excellent and helpful. I could tell the kitchen staff takes pride in the food, as it was well presented and delicious. The prices were incredibly reasonable.
We will be heading back to Mi Tenampa to try more of the dishes.
Yes. Yes. Yes. Finally a Mexican restaurant that veers away from what we know as the norm. Yeah, they offer some of the same dishes as the rest, but they definitely make and season their food WAY differently. Their rice was seasoned so well and super delicious. They have these creamy & cheesy potatoes that those alone set this restaurant so far apart from the rest. The service was great and timely. Very yummy and unique indeed! Go try!
Review Source:We have been looking for a great Mexican restaurant that isn't a taquiera. It seems that the food at all of the Mexican restaurants now tastes the same... boring. Mi Tenampa's food has flavor! The beans taste like beans not paste, The pappas (potatoes) are to die for. Even the ground beef in the enchiladas has flavor. Both my husband and I were very impressed. The service was fantastic . We will definitely be returning! I can't wait to try the tamales!
