Oh. My. Gosh.  I am in love with this place.  The chicken fajitas served on a sizzling hot iron skillet BLEW ME AWAY!  The veggies were cooked just right, the chicken was cooked just right and the seasoning was GREAT.  The sizzle was perfect too!

I loved La Movidita, at 42nd and Post. Don Marcos is even better.
I loved La Guanaquita, at 38th and Post. Don Marcos is even better.

Two kinds of flour tortillas, regular flour and whole wheat flour.

The in-house-made chipotle sauce served on the side with the fajitas BLEW ME AWAY!

The chips served up front were likely made in house.  The chip dip salsa was not as chunky as I like, but perfect in terms of flavor and amount of cilantro.

Generous portion size of the fajitas, generous amount of refried beans and rice too.  A little lettuce, and a little guacamole.  The beans, rice and lettuce was good, but standard.

I don't think the waitresses spoke English.  They called the cook out to ring me up to pay.  If you don't speak Spanish, be prepared to point to the menu when ordering.

Don't wait for the check to be delivered to your table, when you are ready to pay, you have to go to the cashier counter. (That's just the custom at most authentic Mexican restaurans.)

Has a bar, serves beer.  Sodas come in 1/2 liter plastic bottles. I had to order two.

Has a breakast menu, but doesn't open until 9am.

Big screen tv tuned to Univision.

    Karaoke on weekends.

Specials include soup of the 7 seas, menudo, pozole.

VERY authentic.  I was the only gringo out of over a dozen customers.  Service was a bit slow and not as attentive as most gringos are used to, but they were under-staffed. They were also doing carry-out orders.

Clean up front. Clean men's room, but the paint job was not professional.  I might give 3 out of 5 stars for the ambience, but the food pushed this to 5 star, for what it is, way beyond my expectations for an authentic Mex place in this area.
