The bbq wings at this place are great...but the service? Â The service sucks. Â I came to Mick's recently over the weekend and it was very busy. Â My company and I were able to find a booth (that still had the last people's trash on it) and got situated there while we waited for an employee to clean it up and wait on us. Well, Â we waited alright. Â To round it off, I say we waited about 20 minutes before someone took our drink order. Â After that, another 5-10 min before we got our beer. Then another 10 minutes before I finally got to order food. Â Service was horrible. Â Would I come here again? Â Maybe...for the $2 Coronas and the wings, but definitely NOT the service. Â The service at Buffalo Wild Wings is WAY better, so Mick's may not even be an option anymore.
Review Source:The food is some of the best in Stafford, but the hostesses are either never at the front or they are talking to other coworkers about what they plan on doing after work. They will essentially ignore customers walking in the door until they are done talking to each other.
The waiters make excuses about being new all the time. And if they don't make that excuse they make excuses about the service. We waited forever for our drinks and food. The waitress tried to tell us our beers were 4.50...they were $7.25. She tried to tell me my Kansas City beer was local. Hello, we are in Virginia.
Our friends ordered the sampler platter. It was a $10 joke. The menu says "boneless wings" but it actually comes with bone-in wings. Our friend bit into his and it made the most disgusting noise. Super dry and gross. They told the waitress that not only had they ordered boneless, the bone-in were disgusting. She promised to have their ticket discounted for it. She never changed it. She had three tables that night. I can understand you get really busy when you are a waitress, but I did it for six years. The excuses and unanswered requests were far too numerous.
The service and atmosphere is a joke. You feel like a nuisance to the staff when you are here.
We won't be going back.
With 5 people at the bartender would be more attentive, maybe even suggest a menu for me. Never spoke a word to me after ordered my beer and she is clueless as I write this review about her. I've been bartending for over 23 years so I think I'm a decent critic at the bar. She only cares about the female customer she's talking to. Pathetic! Brings me another miller lite without asking as I was wanting to upgrade to a Starr Hill. Never assume, anticipate yes but always ask if they'd like another. ( of course if they say KEEP'em coming) then asking is not needed. As a bartender you should get to know everyone at your bar! Ask them their name and get their's, it goes along way, trust me. Fail!
