My favorite bar....biggest sports bar in about a 10 mile radius...it has 2 huge bars that even if the place was cut in half would still be slightly bigger then lots of bars.....literally has at least  100 tvs the whole upper radius of the place is covered with tvs...place gets jam packed 80 different beers to choose from ..yes I counted on the website...and the beers are cheap...2.25 miller lights and mgds...only downside is ive heard mixed reviews on the food....doesnt matter i still go here and get twisty...stole all the Brickhouse Tavern crowd..place gets jam packed on weekends...even had the Ufc on this weekend and saw Silva get knocked on his keyster
Review Source:My husband and I had a late lunch on June 4, 2013. Â I had the 35 shrimp scampi, and hubby had a British burger (basically a bacon cheeseburger). The scampi did have a LOT of shrimp and was seasoned well. Â They also didn't skimp on the bacon on the burger. Â We very much enjoyed both dishes. Â We also splurged and decided to share a dessert, and chose the chocolate cake pounder. Â It was delicious. Â Definitely enough for two, but you'll want to eat it all yourself. Â Very casual and relaxed environment, reasonably priced, tasty food.
Review Source:This place isn't for me. It's an Applebee's, on steroids.
Well, no. That's a bad opening statement. I'd go here, to watch a game. There are many tv's, many beers, Â and they are reasonably priced.
I'll consume a lot of alcohol, and probably order food. I actually liked the French onion soup. Yep, soup. Everyone likes soup when they're drinking. No they don't, I'm just "special".
Ok, here's the thing that made me mad. They offer "homemade chips" on their menu. I love homemade potato chips. It's a guilty pleasure. The ones I got here seemed like they dumped a bag of kettle chips in the fryer, for 30 seconds. Crap. I just went on their website, didn't see them on the menu. I checked because I couldn't remember what kind of dip they offered.
The parking lot is huge. It always seems to be packed. Go in, you'll get a table in 20-30 minutes on a busy night.
I'm convinced that they buy dead cars, and tow them into the parking lot.
I've been to a few Ale Houses in my day and this one is pretty good. Located right near the Willow Grove turnpike exit (NOT where the pin sent me!) and the Home Depot. Big parking lot.
Inside was a bit noisy but the place is clean and welcoming with a large number of tables and booths. I took a stool at the bar, where I asked the bartender for a recommendation on beer. He knew his stuff and I was impressed. I had a great Belgian import with a good kick to it.
For a late snack, I chose the potstickers which seemed to be the least fried/greasy option on the nibbles menu. Yes, they also have huge salads and sandwiches and burgers and wings. Six stuffed dumplings on a bed of lettuce with a lot of sauce drizzled over it. They were okay - I wouldn't have 'em again.
A decent place to have an after work beer or a full meal. Open until late hours!
I definitely love the atmosphere at this place. Tons of TV's for the game, lots of people, making for a fun time. Decent beer selection, food I've had is just ok. Prime rib sandwich and fish n chips were good, nothing special. Heck, I guess they did the job when all I really want when going here is some good beer and a view of the game on a big screen with some friends. Nice staff which is always satisfying to find at an always crowded joint dealing with lots of patrons with no end in sight on the weekends. Like beer and sports? Yeah, Millers I can stand.
Review Source:Ate here last Friday night about 6:30. Â Thought we would be in for a long wait because the parking lot was crowded but we only had a 15 minute wait for a table. Â
Extensive menu and a really nice selection of beers and mixed drinks. Â My 5 year old son is as picky as they come but he really enjoyed his kids cheeseburger. Â I went for the adult cheeseburger and it was very good. Â My husband ordered shrimp fettucini, ate until he was stuffed and still had plenty to take home with him.
There are TVs everywhere and they have a couple of different options showing at any given time. Â I was able to see the Phillies game as well as any Breaking News about the manhunt in Boston. Â Nice. Â
Best of all was our server, Edward. Â He promptly came to take our order, made suggestions and was extremely attentive without hovering. Â I would've given Miller's 5 stars except we did wait quite a while for our food to come out but I guess that's what you get on Friday at dinnertime. Â We'll be back!
Still mediocre food, but the prices are good. Â We went there for the lobster special they have on Wednesday. Â It was only 6:30, but they were already out of the lobster. Â So, they gave me the twin lobster tails for $15.99. Â They were ok, but a little dried out. Â The baked potato was well cooked as usual. Â The mixed veggies were raw. Â My husband had mahi mahi cooked in veggies, and his meal wasn't really warm, and the fish wasn't cooked all the way. Â So again, just ok meal.
Review Source:I love this place.
My girlfriends and I go here at least once a month. Definitely glad to see something new in a nightlife-less town. We will usually just head out to the "patio" bar and try to find a seat at the bar. Â No matter what day of the week it's always busy. The food is always delicious (and cheap!) and we absolutely adore our fave bartender, Lauren. She always goes out of her way to accommodate us, and is super friendly. LOVE her!
If you go there on a weekend night, definitely don't expect a lot of breathing room or short wait times, but if you expect that of a popular place on the weekends, shame on you.
If you haven't checked it out, get there!
Stay away! Â I travel quite a bit for work and usually stop in places near my hotel for dinner. Â This was one of the worst places I've ever gone to. Â It was loud and the service was horrific. Â I sat at the bar. Â I was never asked if I wanted food and it took 30 minutes to place my order. Â At one point in time, my pint glass sat empty for 10 minutes without being asked if I wanted another. Â One of my glasses had a big chip in it that almost cut my lip. Â When my food came, they did not give me silverware or napkins. Â I had to ask for them. Â The food was decent, but I cannot stress how much you should avoid this spot. Â DO yourself a favor and go to the brick house next door. Â Whoever the manager is of this place should be ashamed.
Review Source:Had dinner here this weekend. The place was packed and we were told the wait would be an hour but we were given a table in about 25 minutes.
They have a lot of taps, but most of them are big name domestic or import beers (Bud, Guiness, Carlsberg, etc). Still, they had several good craft beers on tap, including Stone's Cali-Belgique.
The menu all looks pretty heavy. I wasn't starving and was looking for something on the lighter side, like a wrap, but none were to be found. I had a grilled chicken sandwich. Fine, but nothing to write home about. My friend had the Bistro Burger and was pretty happy with it.
If you're looking for somewhere to watch a game, you're in luck. There are about a thousand TVs mounted on every wall and angle.
I was interested in checking a Miller's out since they are building one a couple blocks down from where I live. It's almost a Jekyll and Hyde story here. The main restaurant part seems upscale and tame. A 20 foot walk to the other side of the building reveals a wild, massive bar with tables all around and people drinking their faces off. Seemed like a very fun place to catch a game. Wasn't impressed at all by the "famous" zingers. Was very impressed with the beer selection and amount of daily specials that they offer.
Review Source:We checked this place out one evening for dinner...made the mistake of sitting in the huge bar area, the music was so loud, we were screaming at each other.
Let me say though, the wings are unbelievable!! Â We shared an order as an appetizer and they were the best I have had since I have lived in PA. Â Meaty, juicy and the wing sauce reminded me of days back home in Buffalo. Â Will definitely be back another night, sit in the less noisy section and enjoy those wings!
Restaurant was very busy -- it took a while to get our food, and then hard to get our waitress' attention when we needed condiments, additional drinks, missing fries, check.
We have been her 4x - twice with family (parents and kids) and twice to sit at the bar. Â We enjoyed ourselves at the bar, quick, friendly service, good atmosphere. Â At the table, however, service was slow both times, and speakers next to the table were way way way too loud -- first time it was music, 2nd time it was commercials from the football game -- couldn't even carry on a conversation and it made dinner feel rushed and hectic vs. enjoyable and relaxing.
First visit this past Saturday with wife and kids (6 of us). We were greeted at the door by 3 thug- like employees who informed us that there was a $10 per person cover charge. I explained that we were only there for dinner. The head goon stated that it didn't matter it was $60 cover charge. Needless to say we left and NEVER will return.
Review Source:I was really on the fence about whether to go with one star or two, but I'm going to go with 2 because I have been here twice--once for a 3* experience and once for a 1*--so I will average.
We had a really unfortunate experience here the other night. We got in around 11pm or so were hoping to get a quick bite at the bar. They have a good beer selection, and we got our first round quickly. It was mostly downhill from there.
The meal was a series of missteps and lengthy delays that kept us there until about 1am (perhaps a little later). My salad came out barely dressed after a long wait, they dropped it off with no utensils, and it took me 15 min to flag someone down to bring me one. After a long wait, we could see the expediter in the exposed kitchen area take our dishes out of the window and put them down on a counter. She walked away, and when she came back, she was wiping her hands with a rag, through it onto the counter, and it landed squarely onto my friend's plate of food.
Then the unthinkable happened. She brought our food over and tried to give it to him, AFTER we said we saw the rag land in the plate. She nonchalantly said, "It's OK it was a clean rag." (!!!!) And then tried to put the plate down in front of him. We said no, and to send out a fresh one. The bartender, mortified, ran over and apologized and comped the burger and a drink. But the wait was on for them to make yet another burger.
So did the bartender handle the situation as best as she could given the circumstances? Yes. Was the food server's attitude pretty unforgivable? Yes.
This paired with the fact that all of our food was pretty bad (except the wings) will sum to me not coming back here again. Pity.
Went here with my Girlfriend and my sister a few weeks ago. Great atmosphere for your everyday Sports Fan with what looks like about 200 HD TV's all over the entire restaurant and bar. The food was just above average. I had a Cheeseburger and fries and it was decent. However if you have a sweet tooth and have a major craving for a dessert that will leave you satisfied then I would suggest getting Capt'n Jack's Buried Treasure and the Apple Crisp! You won't leave hungry that's for sure. Better spot to grab a drink than eat food in my opinion.
Review Source:I am rating this two stars as a dining destination, but I would give it three stars for the bar atmosphere. Â If you are looking for a place to hang out and catch the game on TV with your friends, this is the place to go. Â Great for drinks and bar food, but lacking in a dining destination. Â Large, cavernous place, where you can barely hear the TVs or each other. Â
A group of us went for dinner, and for the most part, it was nothing special. Â Not bad, but not a place worth seeking out if you are looking for a quiet, quality dining experience. Â I will say the salads were probably the best thing on the menu, tasty, fresh and filling. Â The rest of the menu is your atypical bar selection (fried, salty, greasy, etc.)
Decided to try this new local restaurant and I doubt we'll return. Â Lots of wait staff, tables and televisions - service was good, drinks were good but the food was simply only mediocre. Â Cheap cafeteria food with little taste: Â jambalaya had dried out chicken and some kind of sausage (not andouille) ... basically rice with chicken, sausage and veggies. Â Snow crab was overcooked and came with standard fries and commercial cole slaw.
Review Source:I gotta tell you, I walked in there and though "oh good God, what the hell did I get myself into". Â It was LOUD AS HELL! After about 40 minutes (which I expected) we were seated. Â Michele was our server-she was AWESOME. Â She was fun and friendly and was just a pleasure to be around. Â We oerdered zingers with Mt. Saint Helen's sauce. Â Um, no heat...NONE- so the kitchen manager went in the kitchen and MADE US SAUCE! Â Holy smokes!! Really?! Â Then he sat with us for a few mintes talking about cooking and how he got the job. Â I felt like I was with friends. Â I got seafood pasta which was really good. Â My hubby got a burger. Â I have NEVER heard anyone rave over a stupid cheese burger like he did. Â It was great. Â We got some crazy good desert with butterfingers in it--WOW!!! Â I totally recommend going, but make sure you're prepared for the noise...oh and ask for Michele!!!
Review Source:Surprisng how large this place is! It was a great place for our group to chill after a sales meeting. Â We occupied a large long table at the bar....orderded drinks...nachos...more drinks...more appetizers and more drinks. Â It all worked out well...oh and more drinks! Â The potato chip nachos were interesting and quite good! Â The chicken nachos were huge and great for the group! Â Fried calamari was most likely from a frozen box or bag. I won't be getting those again. Ribs were okay...fell off the bone but the sauce had a wierd taste...could not figure out the destinctive spice. Not sure I would get those again either. Â I wanted some kind of healthier appetizer like veggies (Boring I know) but that was not really an option, however, Â the waiter tried to make some suggestions with the grilled veggies (a side dish)...oh well...I appreciate his effort. Â He was quite a good waiter too. The food going out to the other tables looked like a lot of fried foods. Â Not sure I would go out of my way to have an actual dinner here but it is a great place for a football game, "man appetizers" & beer!
Review Source:Teeerrrrrrrrrible. If you like super below average chain food this place is for you! The menu has nothing to offer, very average sounding sandwiches, wings that failed to impress and desserts that your 12 year old could make with about a weeks worth of practice. On top of that, a place described as an "ale house" should have a better selection of beer than all things bud, miller and pbr. The people behind the bar were unattentive and only focused on the dumb looking single guys who loooked gullible. Management could be seen dancing/talking but not table visiting. Â Cant see another reason to go here again. Stay away!
Review Source:Decor is best thing about this place.
A load of T.v. 's  if that's what you like.
Very cool pelagic's hanging on walls.
Not sure about the whole tap room theam. I was expecting to find some out of norm beers on tap. Â Not so much. Same beers you can get at local applebees or Fridays.
On Mondays they have a openface Turkey. Witch is one of my ATF's . For 5 dollars and change why no try it.
Taste was just OK. Turkey was lunch meat style. Witch I don't prefer. Get what you pay for is simple way to put it.
I will be back to try some of the fish dishes.
Yards brawler was highlight of lunch .
Service was just so/so also
I'm gonna go as neutral as I can on this since it just opened and since all I did was grab a drink here with a friend after the movies and have yet to sample anything from their menu.
Basically this place is a chain version of what they think an Ale House should be. I mean I have never known any true ale houses to offer frozen drinks and offer like a ten page menu. I'm not saying its bad for what it is, and their prices are pretty affordable with a decent sized draft list. It's good for the area because there isn't much like it around there, with exception to the Iron Abbey which I love, but which is also small.
Service wasn't too bad, some of the bartenders are a little green and hopefully that improves with time. They also had security everywhere too, which was puzzling. I mean I guess I get it because it's a really big place, but like were they expecting people to get all rowdy and get into fights? I dunno, still on the fence about it but will probably give it another go and grab a bite to eat next time.
This seems like a good place to grab a pitcher of beer and some nachos with friends. Â I would not go here planning to eat a meal. Â I tried this place out for lunch recently and the food left a bit to be desired.
The fried food was standard- no issues there. Â However, I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich as my meal and it was not good. Â The chicken was tough, stringy and over-cooked. Â My mom got the same thing and neither of us could bring ourselves to eat much of it. Â The onion rings were good.
Service was alright.
We stopped here for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised.
Service was OK, food was really good and not very expensive. We both got MILLER'S SEAFOOD, LOBSTER & CLAM BAKE Snow Crab, Cold Water Lobster Tail, Mussels, Clams, Shrimp, Redskin Potatoes & Corn on the Cob, Cooked in Crab Boil & Old Bay. Served with a Taste of our Clam Chowder. $18.99
Everything tasted great and they have a large beer selection I indulged in a Long Hammer IPA, Heidi opted for their sangria. All in all a very nice experience and we will return, Lots of TVs didn't miss any of the Olympics while dining.
Had dinner here with 3 other people. There are 2 bars, lots of tables, and lots of tv's. One very cool feature was that each table gets to pick a tv as "theirs" for the night and can put whatever they want on it.
My chicken nachos were enormous just as the menu says! The nachos came out with sour cream when I requested without, and the server gave me a free dessert!
I wasn't very impressed with the Jamaican Jerk Zingers- but that could have just been the sauce (there are many other flavors). Some other menu items we tried were: steamed clams, snow crab, ribs, tomato basil soup - no complaints about any of the food.
The best part was absolutely the dessert (all are big enough to share)! I had the Captain Jack's Milkshake, and it was phenomenal! We also tried the Captain Jack's Nutty Brother which is an ice cream cake, and they said it was delicious.
Can't wait to go back again!
We went there as a small group for happy hour Friday evening. Upon walking in we figured we'd grab a beer at the first bar before looking for our friends. We stood at the bar for maybe 20 secs before a server asked if we wanted to sit at their dry bar and order drinks from her, we declined. We proceed to the bar in the back. The first spot we stood at didn't get any attention from the bartenders (there were probably 5-6 on duty). We moved to where the servers pick up their drinks, since that spot was open. We were ignored by all of the bartenders for probably a good 5 mins. Many even looked at us directly in the eye. Finally one was walking to up to us, only to get picked off by some other customer looking for drinks (he wasn't waiting like we were). Another bartender (a chick) came up and asked what we needed. We asked if Hoegaarden was on tap and she had no clue so we waited as she looked over all of the taps. We decided on a blue moon and a miller lite (came to approx. $7.50). His blue moon was very cold, my miller lite was served up in a warm pint glass and even the beer was room temp!! He offered to return it, but I'd figured I'd suck it up since the last wait was long. We join our table of friends, here we find their pitchers of miller lite were also room temp. Their waitress pretty much shrugged her shoulders and pointed to the plastic bucket they supply w. ice when they complained. I believe someone hooked up a room temp. keg and they didn't admit it. Later we got a pitcher and that was cold, so someone fixed it. Our table also ordered some boneless wings, the server drops off chicken wings. They were sent back and the correct order was delivered. At least three other times different servers kept coming to the table w/ either boneless wings or regular wings. We kept telling them they weren't for us. Rarely they cleared the tables of trash or napkins. Once in a while they would come for the glasses but that's it. We will not be going back. The service is bad. The place is way too loud, and you can't hear the person sitting right next to you. I was outside and I heard a couple saying they wouldn't be coming back as well. We apparently weren't the only ones disappointed.
Review Source:My sister ordered a burger well done that was very pink throughout. They WILL NOT take anything off the bill, no matter what. They will give you a free dessert, or another meal. Not a good policy! Management - not so hot! Waitress - very good. I had the jambalaya which was mediocre, bland and had generic sausage, chicken and shrimp. My wife has the NY strip which she said was excellent. Cake was huge. Too noisy, too crowded.
Review Source:Great, wonderful, awesome!! Â This is a great new eatery for Willow Grove area. Â This is a sports bar and handy meeting spot. Â I like it better than the NE Philly location. Â The waitstaff and management were extra attentive and the food was fabulous and filling and reasonably priced. Â Great for the whole family, lots of nice big screen tvs and a nice patio area. Â I'll be making this my hangout spot for sure.
Review Source:42 beers on tap, cheap prices and so many drink specials they had to put them in a binder. Â This place is a great addition to Willow Grove. Â
Miller's Ale House is located across from the Home Depot just off 611 and the PA Turnpike. Â The restaurant is very large and has two huge bars. Â Although they have 42 beers on tap most are macro brews but they managed to have a few winners. Â
Since there weren't any reviews for this new location I had go in blind with my food order. Â I tried the full rack of ribs with a baked potato. Â I split an order of wings with one of my friends and he tried the Dolphin filet that came in a foil pack.
The ribs were so flavorful and totally fell off the bone. Â No utensils were needed. Â The wings were breaded, very large and cooked correctly. Â I give the wings a solid B. Â The fish was well prepared with vegetables but lacked any major flavors. Â I would not recommend that dish. Â
Although the bar was big I think that having 4-5 bartenders was a bit much. Â It took a good 5-10 mins to get my first beer and after I finished it I waited another 5mins before anyone noticed. Â I attribute this to the restaurant just opening and I'm sure the service will improve. Â They were packed and had about a 30min wait. (Thursday Night)
They have TV's all over the place and you should have no problem watching a sporting event. Â When they're busy expect it to be noisy but not too overbearing. Â
I will come back to the Ale House again. Â I said the prices were cheap and here are a few examples:
20oz Porterhouse Steak $18.95
Full Rack of Rubs $15.99 *Monday night special $10.99
**UPDATE**
7/24/12
I had to go back because I really enjoyed this spot so much. Â I was with (3) friends and we tried the following:
Chicken Nacho's - Average
Porterhouse - Thin, Fatty and below average at best. Â It came with (2) huge pieces or broccoli that weren't cooked.
Cajun Chicken Pasta - Chicken was well seasoned and the Alfredo sauce was tasty.
Fish & Chips - Huge portion and the fish was light and fluffy.
Fish Taco's - They were good but not worth ordering again. Â The fish was well cooked but I thought they could have put a larger portion of in them.
Beers - They have so many specials and choices you just can't go wrong. Â
I wasn't as impressed with the food this time but there is not doubt in my mind that  I'll be back within a week or two. Â
*Our waitress was nice but was clueless about the food. Â Train your employee's people you just opened!
