Milo's Tavern

A nice little spot to have a beer after work. I think it is great that they keep a nice variety on tap.  Even though it is small, they do offer craft beers along with the standard icons of Bud Light and Miller Lite.

The staff is friendly and even though it is in New Market, it gets pretty busy.  I was pretty surprised by that.

They share a kitchen with Milo's, so a lot of the food is the same.  The burgers are good and they season their fries with Old Bay; delicious.

The Italian cold cut is really good as well.

Tip:  Push on the front door hard.

Vary friendly and fun place get to get a bite to eat and a drink the pizza and stake and  Cheese are very good

Having learned of this restaurant just last month, we have visited twice, first to the casual side and then to the pub side.  The casual side is somewhat Panera Bread-like but wine and beer are also served. It is family friendly with a mix of booths and tables as well as seating on the back porch overlooking a garden. I agree with earlier posts that some type of partition is needed near the entrance to separate diners from the soda fountain and ordering area.  The chicken marsala with garlic bread and seafood penne with sea scallops were delicious!

We visited the pub side early on a Friday evening so it wasn't yet crowded. There is more atmosphere at the pub but seating is more limited.  Richly painted walls, a period fireplace, a wrap-around bar, several pub tables and lively banter at the bar with background music provide an authentic pub atmosphere.  The fried calamari was light and flavorful and the chicken pesto salad was prepared just right. The smokehouse sandwich was terrific but the fries were disappointing.  The service was friendly and prompt.  We look forward to our next meal at Milo's!
