I've only been there once, but we loved it! I can't wait to go back. They have a excellent red sauce, bread was awesome. My wife ordered an item, that had a couple of ingredients I usually don't like, but I couldn't help my self, when trying a bit of her's it was that awesome. For a restaurant to take stuff, you don't normally like and make you like it... I'm impressed. Also we are fans of Garlic knots, and usually visit a place that has them. These knots were the largest we've had and they weren't hard or over cooked.
Review Source:I stopped in here during lunch one day while waiting on a doctor's appointment. Service was quick and the restaurant itself was cute, but the experience left much to be desired. Â My water was delivered half-full and there were flies all over the place. Â My order came out quickly, but the calzone was burned on the outside and was filled with raw pepperonis and canned mushrooms. Â The garlic knots were complimentary and good, except the raw minced garlic sprinkled was an unwelcome surprise when taking a bite. Â After reading the other reviews, perhaps I visited on an off-day, but I will not be making a return visit to double-check.
Review Source:So were on the long drive back from Lexington to St. Louis when we crossed the state line into Indiana and looked off to our right and saw a little town lit up along the Ohio river and were like - "hey that looks interesting". Â So I immediately exited the highway and drove over to where the lights were and we saw a few spots and La Bocca was the one that caught our eye.
We stopped in and got a table outside for dinner. Â Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Â There were 3 in our party and 2 of us wanted to split a pasta - ($5.00 up charge) and one of us wasn't that hungry and ordered off the kid's menu. Â
The pasta was a rigatoni in a light cream sauce. Â It was just what the doctor ordered for the long drive home. Â They also brought us a bread basket with warm knot rolls with roasted garlic on top and a side of marinara dipping sauce.
I think they are silly for charging patrons for splitting a pasta dish. Â In fact, to increase business you should let diners know you would be happy for them to split. Â
But, all in all it was a pleasant pit stop on our drive.
