Dive with the right staff. John the bartender gives this place personality. Big beers, bar food, and karaoke. We were given complementary popcorn with our 32 ounce beers.

I once drove by this place and witnessed some bikers getting quite rowdy. Being the middle aged timid suburbanite that I am that meant this place was off limits to me. Along came Yelp and some friends who reviewed this well enough. I decided what the heck, I will grow a pair.

Beer is the way to go here. Do not go ordering your fancy girly tinis. You will likely get a look that will make you squirm and they will instead offer you one of their famous glow drinks. Suck it up or get a boomba of your draft of choice. This is also not a place where you will nosh on charcuterie plates or elegant nibbles either, get a burger. The burgers are a-ok.

All in all the place is more roomy than you imagine from the outside, comfortable and not at all scary. The food is decent but typical.

Damn I feel like such a wuss now.

Coworker's and I wanted some holiday cheer last evening. We choose the Mobil due to past good experience. This trip did not disappoint. The beer was cold, the drinks poured very well and the burgers were delicious. Staff very friendly and helpful. It was a very pleasant way to start our holiday extended weekend.

Mobil Lounge is a dive bar on a sketchy stretch of Michigan Avenue in Canton. Rodger W. says that Canton used to be just trailer parks and farms. I believe him. Some of the folks there look like they've been planted at the bar since before such nauseatingly fabricated claptrap as "Antique Forest", "Vintage Valley", "Rustic Ridge" and "Carriage Hills" was ever spewed onto the scene. Hey, why are so many McMansions gray? Anyways, I've always been intrigued by the Mobil Lounge sign's promises of "Sunday Liquor" and "Light Lunches".

My wife and I have gone a couple of times for karaoke. It's very spacious inside. The service, particularly one employee, has been kinda crappy both times, ignoring us for long stretches. I had "boombas", which are giant (32 ounce?) draft beers for $5.50. There's nothing "light" whatsoever about the lunches or dinners or late-night-mistake food on the menu. Wild Bill hosts karaoke on Fridays and Stoo hosts on Saturdays. I'm quite charmed by the guy in overalls who sings "Just a Gigolo"...

Had to get my Friday night karaoke fix, so I went with Dan R to see our fav KJ Wild Bill at the Mobil Lounge. It's your standard dive bar, a wide open room on one end, some booths in the center and some long table on the other end. There are couple of little TVs - not a great place to watch the game, but you can catch the score. There's a pool table and a colorful poster advertising "glow drinks" which I found amusing.

The crowd and service were friendly enough,  but I though our pitcher was a bit pricey for Molson Canadian. Also, the bartender forgot about us for a little while, and they were pretty well staffed for the small crowd. But then she was really apologetic, so it was okay. All in all, the definition of a 3 star establishment.
