My husband and I had tickets to a concert and we thought we had pretty good seats... until we got to them. We were seated to the immediate left of the stage in the third row of the balcony and all we could see was the side of the massive speaker system. It was horrible. The acoustics were also terrible so we could barely hear anything from the opening band besides noise. My husband was asking around about how to get to the box office so we could buy better seats when a manager of some kind came over and asked him what was wrong. He explained the problem and the manager  handed him two tickets one row off the floor directly across from the stage. It was awesome! We could hear and see everything! I wish I got the manager's name, but he was great!

This arena is big enough to get a big name star to perform at it but small and intimate enough that every seat is a good seat.

I like that there is complimentary parking and an abundance of it. I like the staff here from people movers to the concession stand customer service is also great.  They even have sit down restaurants inside the arena area as well so you can grab a bite instead of having the usual concession fare.

Every time I've had a VIP event here for an artist the process is very smooth and easy.

I thought this was a pretty decent place to see a show.  I wouldn't want to be in those top teirs though- they  looked pretty steep!  Security was on top of their game, and helped me out when Ta drunk chick almost fell down the stairs, and would have fell if I wasn't standing there to catch her. The staff was courteous  and pleasant, but in that no-nonsense kind of way that you see at venues like this.  I would definitely come back to see a show here again.  NOTE:  If you get too drunk in the casino before you go to the show, you had better sober up!  They refused admittance to the girl behind me in line.

This is a great place to watch a concert for a variety of reasons:

    1. Mohegan Sun is easily accessible, with numerous parking garages.

    2. They have a ton of restaurants to choose from, plus you can chill out at a bar, or gamble, or shop, or....

    3. The arena only seats 10,000 people so there's really no bad spot in the place. I went there to see Rush, we were in the upper section, and our seats were great. I also like the fact that they don't gouge you on refreshments - popcorn and a package of M&M's was only $6.75; compare that to other venues where you'd easily spend $10+.

After the concert it was easy to leave the parking garage and head home. I'll definitely come back for another concert.

Got a pretty good seat and watched a free show. Very nice sound and stage effects. No complaint.

Fantastic place to see a concert. Comfortable seats, decent views (even from high above), and great acoustics. They've GOTTA train their ushers better though - we were taken all over the damn arena when one of the staff was trying to lead us to our seats.

Otherwise, no complaints. They bring in some excellent performers and it's a very positive experience for the most part. I love Mohegan Sun in general so the arena is an added bonus.

Having been to a number of similar-sized arenas in the greater New England area, the Mohegan Sun Arena can be added to the list of acceptable destinations for future concerts and events.

I attended a Matchbox Twenty concert at the arena a few days ago. Being from Boston, Mohegan is a bit of a hike, and I had read mixed-reviews on the quality of the arena so was unsure what to expect. My tickets were in the second tier (balcony), located above stage right. Stubhub had marked them as "potentially obstructed view," but having had good experience with similar seats in the past, I took the chance and purchased them anyway. Thankfully, there was no obstruction whatsoever, and we were provided with a fantastic view of the band both on stage and behind it. The sound quality was a little marred by the echo, but that's what you get with such a tall arena and this could easily be remedied by adding a few acoustic panels to the ceilings.

The staff was great and got us to our seats in a timely and efficient manner. Though I was jealous, I did appreciate that the people sitting in the last five or six rows who truly DID have obstructed view were provided with free upgrades about a third of the way through the show. I would definitely consider attending another concert at Mohegan should the opportunity arise.

What a great arena. I came to Mohegan Sun for the weekend and was at the Mohegan Sun Arena for a boxing fight.

The staff here is very well organized for events. Finding your seats can be tough when it's your first time at a venue, but they are prepared. They have enough staff around to walk you to your seats and make sure you know where you are sitting.

Security might need to get beefed up a little bit given that an audience member ran up on the boxing ring after a fight; other than that absolutely no complaints. They do allow re-entry as long as you get your ticket scanned before leaving.

They have your typical concessions, beer and arena food.

Been to this venue dozens of times. Like it here cause there really isn't one bad seat in the house. Great place to see a show, grab some grub and do a little gambling all in one building. Only downfall... Ticket prices for shows are always more expensive here then other venues for the same show.

Not a Bad seat in the house..... I just seen Train in concert two weeks ago. Unreal venue and Great concert as usual by Train. Plus no paying for parking and was able to escape the crowd quickly to go to the casino. Had a great time and would definately see another concert at Mohegan Sun Arena. Bud light was not expensive either or mixed drinks.....very reasonable and very clean.

This is a medium-sized arena that is used for both sports and concerts/events.

While it is new and fairly clean, it lacks character.  Also, the place is not arranged well for concerts, and it can be a pain to get from the remote parking lots to the venue.  Finally, I don't like the fact that it's in a casino.

Not a bad place to watch a concert! I went last weekend to watch Florence and the Machine and had a great time. We had high seats, but didn't have a problem seeing the stage. Typical of most concerts, the artist is projected on a screen up top so everyone gets a decent view. Sometimes the tickets are crazy expensive, but that isn't the casino's fault. After the concert is over, there is a lot to do without leaving the venue  - shopping, dancing, drinking, gambling, people watching etc.

To sum it up. The acoustics are pretty good, they have plenty of bathrooms and the alcohol isn't too expensive. Win win.

I have always been pleased with this venue.

In 2003, I was there to watch the Connecticut Sun WNBA basketball team beat the Phoenix Mercury in a thrilling athletic battle! (Well...as thrilling as a WNBA game CAN be. *ahem*)

In 2008, I relived some childhood memories by seeing New Kids on the Block in a whole new light. "The Right Stuff" was being sung on stage, but Jordan Knight was much sexier than I recall him being back in 1990. It made me feel all...funny inside, feelings I STILL can't comprehend. *hmmmmmm*

In 2012, I was utterly blown away by the power house voice of Florence Welch and her musical machine. (Perhaps better known as Florence + the Machine...) Her vocals powerfully floated from the stage to me on the lower level, absolutely enveloping me, putting me into a trance.

Though I have access to various venues in and around my dear New York City, the Mohegan Sun Arena is easily one of my favorite ones in New England. Never a bad event! And if the event does happen to suck, no loss. Go out and gamble your disappointment away!

Went to go see George , great show, laughed the whole time.
The arena had good seating, helpful staff and good lighting and acoustics to heat and see every bit of what was going on. Well definitely be back :)

DROPKICK MURPHYS!!!! Small arena so all seats have a pretty good site line. Acoustics are pretty good as well. Frank Turner was an awesome opening act.

Mohegan Sun definitely seems to care about the quality of experience it provides to its patrons. From almost over the top decor, to the finest in gambling, dining, and shopping, and a great hotel, one would think they would seek excellence in everything they do. Sadly I found this is not so. Years ago I went to a show at the Arena to hear Jason Mraz. I was disappointed in the sound quality of the room, but the sound engineer did a good job compensating for the flaws of the room. The Arena is a gymnasium, sound bounces off every surface like a cavern. For probably the cost of 1 nights concessions, Mohegan Sun could have an acoustical engineer design panels to reduce the echo of that room and make for a more enjoyable listening experience. Last Saturday, March 10th, I went to hear the Frank Turner/Dropkick Murphys show, and it was anything but enjoyable. I expected the show to be loud, and it was, so please be certain to understand I am not complaining about the volume, I am complaining about the quality of sound. The person who engineered the sound for this show should be promptly fired as he or she basically enhanced the flaws of the room instead of make an attempt at compensating. The result was a muddy, garbled, sonic stew where the only sound that was consistently distinguishable was the thump of the bass drum. The rest was very close to booming white noise. Even when someone was talking into the microphone, with no other sounds, the sound was so bad that the speaker may have well been from another planet. Myself and my friend even complained to the staff who said she would talk to the Production Manager, but nothing changed.  If it were not for the fact that I was with friends (who all thought the sound was abysmal) I would have left after the opening act. Instead I toughed it out and tried to have a good time. Truly shameful of Mohegan Sun to allow a performance to go on like that and someone not do something to fix it as well as not taking steps to improve the overall acoustics of the room for live music. I would rather travel hours out of my way to hear the acts I like rather than hear another show in the Mohegan Sun Arena.

The Wife and I were here yesterday (11/19/11) for the Tip-Off classic and enjoyed ourselves very much. Even though we sat in Sec. 117, we felt we were right on top of the court and players. Hopefully, the Piano Man makes another appearance here, would be a great getaway to see the show and spend time in the casino.

I've seen a lot of casinos in my time but I haven't come across too many arenas within casinos like the one here at Mohegan Sun.  No other casino resort has a venue to compete with this, at least not out East.  I've come here exclusively for concerts, but I can imagine what a zoo this place could be when it doubles as the home arena for the WNBA Connecticut Sun.

A concert here is always a good time.  The seats are comfy, aisles are clean, and views from the nosebleeds are still pretty decent.  Finding a seat has never been difficult here and the acoustics sound great.  It's a contender for one of the finer venues in the Northeast.

The one major (but expected) knock is their concessions.  Each of the stands feature the usual arena food (burgers, nachos, hot dogs, soda, etc.), all of which are overpriced and on the blander side.  Then again, who comes to an arena to eat food?  I rest my case.

Great arena to see a show.  I've seen comedians, WWE, Britney Spears, and a dog show here.  The arena holds 10,000, but is configured accordingly.

Good concession area, not too cramped, and parking is free as its apart of the beautiful Mohegan Sun Casino.

Highly recommend versus the XL Center in Hartford or the TD Garden in Boston, if you have the choice.  Small venue but does get big acts - Toby Keith, Black Eyed Peas, WWE, and Elton John, and Britney Spears have been among the acts that have stopped here along with Boston or NYC on their tour schedule.

Awesome arena.  Very impressed with the stage setup and sound & light array here.  The place is slightly smaller than the MGM Grand Arena back in Vegas but I think this is a better venue.

I like the easy access to/from the rest of the property.  The flow of people in/out works really well.

The concessions here are pretty good too.....good selection.  And if you don't like anything here, you can head into the casino to grab a bite or a drink before you get in.

    Return Factor - 90%

I came here for the John Legend/Sade concert last week for the first time.  This is hella far from the city but the venue itself is great.  Though it was a busy night with a mix of regular casino patrons gambling their lives away and concert goers, there was plenty of free parking which was easy and accessible to the casino.

The casino looks and smells like any other casino I've been to.  Lots of folks chain smoking, eyes dilated while they work the slot machines.  I scurried past them and headed to the actual arena. I'm traumatized by a Lifetime movie I once saw where Delta Burke gambled her life savings away.

We had great seats and the sound system was amazing.  After the concert we stopped at Krispy Kreme in the casino to get some piping hot donuts.

What to do, What to do I lost all my money at roulette whats around this corner. Oh Hey!! an arena.

This arena is small and personal and the staff is great. How would have thought it fits like 10k people.

I have been here for about 5 concerts already and I always have a great time.  The only star I take away is because I always lose my money getting to the arena and can't buy a concert shirt!!

It needs a serious make over. The seats are hard, small, uncomfortable and too close together! The place is huge, it should be made to be more comfortable. A nice Escalator to get up and down into the nose bleed section would be a bonus! As well as a good array of handicap seats. I personally like Foxwoods' arena the best.

Excellent place to see a show!  I've seen tons of concerts here and being a smaller venue, it's a more 'intimate' setting (as intimate as being with 10,000 of your closest friends can be, anyways).  I've been to concerts all over, from CT to HI, and this is easily my favorite place to see my favorite bands.  It's a bit more expensive than other venues since it's a casino and the shows are typically shorter (venue rules - they want you out there GAMBLING!) but I highly recommend going here if your favorite band is on the calendar!  Enjoy!

Pretty cool place to gamble, and I like it much better than the Yonkers "racino" down here. Only reason I don't give it 5 stars, is because they allow smoking. Yeah, they do have a "smoke-free" section, but you have to walk all the way through the smokers to get to it.

Very nice size arena for a great show experience. Saw Sting there (in July  for Symphonicity) and, though we had seats on the front right side, the view and the sound were still fantastic. It's small enough to be almost intimate, yet large enough to house larger talent.

Only place I've ever seen a concert at so I guess my review is a tad biased, but I definitely had low expectations my first time coming to Mohegan Sun Arena.

My first concert was Jay Chou in December 2004. I came as a high schooler not expecting much, but boy was I surprised. Who knew there were so many cute Asian girls as I saw that night. Unfortunately, I was wifed up at the time and didn't act on any inhibitions, but I was so surprised when they came out in troves. Where are they from? Surely not Connecticut right? NYC? Maybe, but why can't I find them in NYC? It's kind of sad now that I think of it but an Asian concert is when all the Asian cuties come out of hiding.

What was more surprising was the level of energy at the arena. The arena is relatively small (10K capacity, probably 7-8k during a concert due to seating, compared to the 100k I'm sure to see at a Michigan football game), but the audience sure managed to stuff all the energy it could. Fans were responsive and loud! Definitely got my energy flowing.

After Jay Chou, I came to see a few other people, including Rihanna, which I think was the best concert I've ever been to. Same deal, a loving crowd that gets extremely loud during the encore. Seating is appropriate and the floor section is really where its at. I dont know how the view is from the rafters but it shouldn't be too bad in a smaller arena.

Also they give out $5 food vouchers, which is enough for a beer (+ some change). The concessions aren't too overpriced and people definitely either drink at the arena or drink at one of the bars in the casino.

Security is strict so you don't have to be afraid of annoying people moving down from the rafters. Seems like the arena is fully staffed, especially for a larger concert.

Tip: The BEST Asian girls came to the arena for the S.H.E. concert. #imjustsayin

This is my favorite venue to attend a concert.  I was here for the Tony Bennett performance recently and again, the arena (and Tony's show) met my expectations.  I can take in dinner at the casino before the show, and stay for all of the encores.  Parking at the venue, while extremely busy on concert nights, is very convenient.  Just make sure to arrive early for the best parking (not that I heed that advice myself).  Leaving is always easy, with none of the traffic problems at Gillette/Foxboro or Comcast/Mansfield.  It's so much faster getting home from Mohegan than from either of the aforementioned venues, so yeah I'll keep heading down for more concerts!

Was surprisingly impressed w/ the arena. Good seats for a solid hip-hop show and obviously very convenient being within the building. The opener was sick but replaced with an even better act. It was my first time at Mohegan and thus my first time at the Arena; wasn't dissatisfied.

Mohegan Sun Arena is on the top of my list for venues to see favorite bands.  I was absolutely thrilled with my experience here recently when I came to Stone Temple Pilots.  Being a regular to the rock concert world, my newcomer experience at this location was one to not be forgotten.  I am completely open to traveling here in the future for more great shows!

Having bought my tickets online I did not need to stop by the box office here.  Straight to the "ticket scanners" and pat down and bag check.  Crap!  I forgot I left my camera in my purse!  Not a problem, the bag check is just a quick glance and they didn't even notice it sitting in there.  Yay!

Made our way to the "limited view" seating that I purchased last second.  Guess what!  Not limited what-so-ever. . . completely open view of the stage and some backstage area (I was seated on the side of the stage a few rows up, awesome!)  Staff was extremely helpful in directing us to our seats.  Hallways outside the arena itself are lined with beer carts, band merchandise, food stands, etc.  They get busy between and after bands but the bathrooms stay remarkably open!  Barely any line or the woman's bathroom!  Thats a first!

Great location, the arena is smack in the middle of the rest of the Mohegan Sun Casino.  Got here WAYYYY too early for the concert and was able to enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants located just outside the doors to the arena.  Strolled around the casino, the sounds of slot machines ringing in my ears.  As far as I remember the arena is smoke-free unlike the rest of the casino with is an A++ for me.  Smoke gives me headaches (which I treated with some Tylenol I found in a convenience store near the arena.)

I will definitely return here in the future!  A must visit !

I went here for the Britney Spears concert on May 3. The venue is great, because it's small, and no matter where you sit, you have a good seat!!  We had a little bit of an issue with another concert goer, but it was handled very well by security, who then moved us to better seats, and apologized for how everything had gone down. The sound was good, the view was good, and it's attached to a whole building of fun! Besides being kind of far from home (booo), I like that I can meet my friend from NYC there for concerts we want to see together, and it's equidistant for us both!

I would see a concert here in the future... although hopefully not ever on a Sunday night ever again :P

One of the better places to see a concert.  I have seen many of them here, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Stevie Nicks, Stevie w/ Don Henley, Pavarotti, Bette Midler...

All of them were great...  great sound, show.  Kind of expensive for something like this though.  Sometimes I find it not worth it for some shows.  Unfortunately most artists come here now.

They have food and drink options as well outside the arena, and they card everyone.

The only thing I don't like is I spend $150 on 5th row tickets and they wouldn't let us go near the stage!  Only 3rd row and closer.  Really stupid considering I paid that much and was that close.  Oh well.

The Mohegan Sun Arena is a great venue for both sports and concerts. The event that sparked my love affair with the Mohegan Sun Arena was an Irish Tenors concert in December 2002 with about 7,900 other Irish tenors fans.

Sports plays a big part in the Arena experience. When the CT Sun of the WNBA arrived in 2004 I started making the two and a half hour drive to the arena for Basketball .

As a matter of fact the Arena is a smart addition to the performance spaces of the Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino.

They confiscated my empty Sigg water bottle. Argh.

Saw Nine Inch Nails here last night-the area and casino was running amok with children of the night types-hey kids I was alive in 94. The show was amazing-definitely a nice, smallish area venue with decent sound. If your favorite band is here and not coming to NYC it is worth the trip. Even though  driving on 95 sucks...

Checked out Robert Plant and Alison Krauss here last week and was more than impressed.  I needed to pick up handicapped accessible seating and was extremely pleased with how the entire situation was handled.  For handicapped seating you do not have to go through Ticketmaster, you can book your seats through the casino.

As it turned out the person needing the handicapped seating was unable to join us so I contacted the Arena again to see if we should switch out our seats, as we did not want to needlessly take up handicapped seating.  They were more than happy to accommodate us but mentioned that where there were plenty of handicapped seats left we should just go ahead as planned but if we ended up wanted to switch out the seats they would be more than happy to do so.

Picking up the tickets at Will Call was a breeze, I was in and out of line in about five minutes.  To get to the handicapped seating area you do not have to change levels as all, huge bonus for folks that have limited mobility.  There is no permanent seating in the section to accommodate wheelchairs, another important feature.  The seats were amazing, we had the best view, it was crazy.  Everyone who was handling that section was very nice and accommodating...if the person who needed the handicapped seating had been able to join us he would have surely been comfortable.  If you valet park your car and then head right over to the arena entrance you do not have far to travel...another great bonus for folks who may not be able to move around much.

I was impressed and the show was awesome.  Very cool for a casino arena to pay such close attention to the very important details for folks that are less mobile than others.
