I hate giving 2 star reviews. It makes me feel bad, but this place grossed me out.
Being inside a bar that allows smoking inside always makes me sick by the end of the night. I'd rather duck out to a patio and enjoy outside.
The drinks were overpriced. The bar tender was very absent minded and didn't ever remember our drink order.
There were old creepy ladies in the bathroom like stumbling into one another and listening to my conversations with my friends.
It's dark, dank and stinky. Â The lights got turned on early because there were people so wasted that they were throwing up onto the counter and the ground. I couldn't believe the bartender let them get that wasted in the first place, and then that they just didn't care throw up was every where.
Not letting my friends drag me to this bar again.
Full Townie bar goodness on Louetta. Â
So a little tip, right after you walk in be prepared to dodge to your right. Â You have to do this because a "served" middle aged lady will try to run you over on her way out right after you walk in. Â Or....Maybe they just do that for me?
I don't know who the lady is, or even if it is the same lady. Â I'm not sure if they keep a supply of drunk ladies in the back, waiting for me to walk in or what. But nearly every time I walk in the joint a lady walks out and tries to run into me. I'm pretty agile and she is usually listing to her right, so she is pretty easy to dodge. Â She usually says something snarkly under her breath as she brushes by you. Â I think she tried to hit on me once, but she was speaking vodka english, which I did not understand yet that night.
Once you have dodged the salvo of ladies they throw at you, you can relax and discover the goodness that is Molly's.
I think Molly's is a great neighborhood bar. I go maybe 4-5 times a year when visiting my parents in Klein. Â Great for sports, huge banks of TV's. Plus they seem to like horse racing, so you can go make your bets at the track and come and watch the races here at Molly's. Â They love their 'Stros, Rockets and Texans of course. Klein is a little aggyish, but they've let me watch the Horns before.
I'm not sure how this Molly's is related to the other Molly's in Houston. Â I want to say this one is separate because it has always been called Molly Malone's, but I dunno.
CAVEAT: As of my last visit they still smoke inside at Molly's, just a heads up.
Pretty good beer selections on tap. They have Pilsner Urquell for me, plus a full bar and a stiff drink. Â I have been there before when they had a live band, but normally it is just sports and juke box. They have two pool tables, and a great big darts area. Â They have a pub grub kitchen, that is actually pretty good if you gotta get some food into you quick.
Everyone seems to know everyone, and I like that in a bar. I don't know folks because I'm not in town enough, but Molly's always makes me feel right at home. So thanks Molly's!
