Mooncussers Tavern

Came in for dinner after a long day and were seated in front of one of the two ac (in the window type ) systems.   The air was blowing on us and there was no other seating for two offered.  We froze and it was so noisy.
The food was only OK and not worth the cost.
ABSOLUTELY NO  VEGAN options and the server was not helpful at all.
Ended up with an appetizer and a salad.   I was sick all night and my friend ( not vegan) had a similar reaction to the Pork special.
All this for over $110 .....
The staff were pleasant and chatty BUT ONLY to folks they appeared to know.
Will not return and after talking to neighbors here in Harwich ; this is not an " uncommon" opinion.   ONCE IS MORE THAN ENOUGH.

When we are down on the cape we usually hit the Fish House or the Bramble Inn, two very good places.  This time we mixed it up and went with the Mooncusser.  

At first blush it was a very cool place with nice ambience.  It's in an old house and the tables are dispersed amongst the house's rooms.  They have two small bars that appear they could be fun seating when you are alone or with another.  Since we were a party of 6 we had a table....right next to the kitchen's swinging door.  Yikes.  Bad start.

The server was very nice and courteous.   No problems there.  The first sign of trouble was the laminated menus with a very small selection.  The tapas appetizers were good - carpaccio and cheese plate were two selections we liked.  The entrees were just ok, nothing special.

Again, not bad but as we walked out we all said "shoulda went to the Fish House".

What a place!  My wife and I needed a well deserved nice dinner on the cape and a quick yelp search found this place as just what we were looking for.

We decided to sit in the bar area as we were dressed very casual and we definitely didn't stick out.  Bar was already full when we got there at 5:30pm but there were a few tables free.

We ordered the cheese plate, 2 Brewster oysters, mushrooms ajillo, avocado and tuna tempura, and duck infused burgers.  Everything was absolutely fresh and delicious!  We were both full when we were down.

Tack on 2 martinis each and our bill came to $96.  Pricey, but worth it.  We met the owner, Patrick, on our way out and he was very friendly.  We told him we would definitely be back!
