The pizza is good. Â Not amazing but standard pizza. Â I think i might teste better than it actually is due to nostalgia. Â The delivery service is absolutely god-awful. Â When its late and they don't want to deliver or its busy they simply take their phone off the hook, so the hours they post are completely invalid and arbitrary. Â And when they do deliver, they will never tell you a time to expect it, even it is an hour. Â If you go here, dine in or get take out.
Review Source:Mother Bears is in my top two for pizza in bloomington. I refuse to order chains like pizza hut, papa johns, and dominoes. The deep dish is my favorite and I actually LOVE the brownies that come in the munchie madness deal. I have to say it is frustrating at times to deal with the window and ordering to go. They also won't deliver to my apartment on the west side of town so if I want it- I have to get carry out. I would end up eating this a lot more often if it were more accessible.
Review Source:I've had Mother Bears enough to make a decision now. My verdict - it's alright.
It's a strange pizza and there are definitely things I love about it. The ingredients are fresh and the cheese is good. Why the three stars? I find the pizza to be a little to saucy. Especially for a pizza that is loaded with cheese, it makes for a heavy pizza that isn't that great to eat without creating a mess.
I did prefer the one white sauce pizza I had which was significantly less saucy. It was much easier to enjoy.
I find their pizza slice at the window take out option to be slow at times--one time I waited more than 10 minutes to get my slice. At times the people working the window were rude--but hey, it's the lunch rush so I'll let it slide for the most part.
In the end, it's OK and I'll return every once in a while. I'll like to try the other options sometimes. I'm fairly upset that there is little parking available which is what prevents me from coming when I'm off campus. In the end--the pizza is just a little too saucy for my liking.
