Being a new comer to sushi I had my doubts, but the sushi at Ami was able to diminish those rather quickly. This discrete establishment on 3rd st. can easily be overlooked with Mother Bear's pizza as a neighbor. The meal was great starting off with a classic miso soup followed with a house salad served with a Chinese influenced dressing. These starters had no competition with the main course. I had the tuna crunch roll and although it was a bit pricy at $15 I felt that it was worth it. Spicy tuna sushi topped with crunch and various sauces added up to a flavor you can't beat. If you are worried about prices you can always visit Ami on Tuesdays and receive 30% off your meal. This helps make it an inviting and visitable environment. The service was fine with no problems that can come to my mind. The atmosphere was very social and inviting given that I went on Tuesday night. I gave this establishment four stars because I felt as if it deserved all of them. They have many tasty sushi rolls that were available but I only tried the Tuna Crunch. I highly recommend this spot if you are a sushi junkie or even if you need a quick sushi fix. Great place to socialize with friends and have a good meal to go along with it. Thumbs up for Ami!

Last night for dinner, my roommate's parents took us out for dinner at Ami, a sushi restaurant just southeast of Indiana University's campus in Bloomington. I ordered the Crazy Horse roll: Â avocado, salmon, cream cheese, and scallions, battered and fried, AND drizzled with a sweet sauce. Not exactly authentic Japanese, but it was SO yum. The textures and tastes worked together perfectly. Well priced, but not lacking on quality. For about $11, I got the Crazy Horse, a side of rice, miso soup, and a salad with a deliciously tangy ginger dressing. The only thing that was a little disappointing was that my roll only had five pieces, I was so full by that point but it tasted so good that I wanted more! The service was good, our waitress was efficient but extremely polite. They did get an order wrong at our table, but they handled that very well and brought out a fresh plate within minutes even though they were super crowded and busy. Overall, I'd give it a thumbs up!

I ordered a few items for takeout. They were fast and organized and not overpriced. I didn't order any sushi though given my last experience but the miso soup, edamame and tempure were good. I wish the tempura was a bit crispier but that could also just be the fact that I had it in a to-go container for 10 minutes.
I will go back for the non-sushi to get my japanese fix. Maybe even a veggie roll to satisfy my seawood sushi craving!
