from FLorida: we went there a year ago! I think the food was pretty good. But there were wonderful rustic benches along the side of the restaurant and the carpenter was eating at the restaurant when we were there. I did not know that he was the maker of these split log benches. The smallest was 2 feet and it was $20., 3 feet was $30 and probably up to 5' Â for $50. I had no way of getting it home but bought the $20. Â anyway. Â I stored it in my son's basement in Cleveland until last week. It went through USPS and I love it. The carpenter was a young Amish man and I remember that they said he came from the group that uses very little electricity. Â I remember the hostess as friendly and helpful . Â Go there to see the benches and have a decent meal!!
Review Source:I have had breakfast here several times. The food was strictly mediocre, nothing out of the ordinary. Pricing is a little hit and miss, any breakfast entree is very fairly priced, but a small (~10 oz.) glass of orange juice (think Sunny Delight, not fresh squeezed) is $2.50, so it evens out.
Where Mountaintop shines though is the service. Servers have always been very genial, attentive and happy to help. Overall a great place to have a cup of coffee.
We went there intending to go to the Amish Door, then decided to try this place. Not bad. Their pasta meals looked very appetizing & very filling. Their salad bar wasn't all that hot but their grilled chicken with vegetable was real good. Also their pies they give you a very big piece of pie. We were quite pleased with their meals. We will have to stop there again to try some of their other food that they have on their menu. Very worth while to stop there. It was crowded at lunch time & Â just nice to go to a family restaurant for a change.
Review Source:Every time I take a trip to Ohio's Amish country, the Mountain Top restaurant is always on my agenda. Â This is a really great diner style place with really good breakfast food. Â They also have good dinner specials as well.
Try the Olde Mountain Top Omelet if you go; it has spoiled me for omelets.
