The only reason I didn't put five stars is because of the setting. Â It's a very simple setting but good if you can get a table by the window in daylight. Â We didn't get to but once the food arrived I didn't care. Â The pasta with vodka sauce is incredible. Â I was pleasantly surprised at how far the food surpassed the setting. Â Great quality and flavorful food you don't find very often. Â I can't wait to go back!
Review Source:A-OK-and-a-half. If this review was based solely on the spinach pizza they make here, it would be five stars. We'll get back to that. Mountain View is nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains and has the picture window view to prove it. It's a bit off the beaten path... up and down a winding road to the the top of a hill. There is a small dirt parking lot to the front and sides. The interior is nothing extravagant, but with the beauty of the mountains that embrace the lot, extravagance isn't necessarily needed. The service is decent. The other food isn't bad... but does pale in comparison to other places I've been IF it were not for the spinach pizza. The crust is perfect: crispy on the bottom, a bit of soft dough between the rolled ends. Between the crust and the spinach-filled mozzarella is a light olive oil based white sauce. I definitely recommend taking the small detour off I-81 to stop by and grab a slice or a box of the Mountain View Italian Kitchen's spinach pizza.
