I have been coming to Mulligans for years, not only for the friendliest service we always receive from the wait staff, but also the delicious food items on the menu! A few of my favorites is the Iron Garlic Skillet steak which is drizzled with a garlic butter sauce, YUM!! , the French dip sandwich is to die for! so juicy!!! , and the appetizers Garlic shrimp bowl and their Nachos!!! This place never seems to disappoint!! Definite local family bar and grill!! Best in TR!
Review Source:Another above average pub. Â Have always had great service, spinach artichoke dip is the best ever, steak bites with a hot blue cheese dip amazing. My biggest complaint with almost every restaurant,is the freshness of bread and rolls. They make a great burger,but I don't like big doughy rolls. Â Truly just a personal issue. Now if you order a cHeese steak sandwich the roll is exceptional.
Menu ranges from usual bar food, pizza up to 48 oz. T bones.
Bar area can get noisy, and they have live entertainment couple nights a week.
We live locally in the area and have been many times. Has always been ok. If you stick to the basics wings, pizza, burger etc it is fine. Â Stay away from any of the entrees as they are just awful and not worth your money.
On our last visit I decided to get a cheeseburger. Â The waitress asked what type of cheese? I replied Swiss. Â She then asked anything else? I said lettuce, tomato, onion, a little caught off guard that I had to ask for that on a hamburger. Â When the burger arrived it was fine and prepared how I had asked and ate the meal. Â Upon getting the bill I noticed they had the audacity to charge $.75 for onion. Â Not fried onion raw onion. Â This is their policy I was told by the wait staff. I think that is cheap and unfair and sneaky we will not be returning any time soon.
I find the food here to be VERY GOOD, BUT the service is HORRIBLE! I would absolutely give it 5 stars if the service was acceptable.
Once again, restaurant owners don't focus enough on making sure the SERVICE is above average to cultivate a booming business.
Experience 1 - A Saturday night, table of 6, we had good food and very good service UNTIL our waitress seemed to have left the restaurant for 30 minutes. We couldn't get our check, the hostess couldn't find her, we searched the restrooms and circled the entire restaurant. No manager in sight all night either. Â Also, before we sat at a table, we tried to get serviced at the bar BUT the bartender was more interested in leaning back against the bar and gazing at the tv (nevermind the place was packed) than seeing if anyone needed a drink.
Experience 2 - A Saturday night, party of 4, and we all swore our waitress was stoned. She kept repeating her name, took 20 minutes to bring our drink order (thus resulting in warm beer) and would saunter past our table like she was counting stars in the sky. The only time she came to our table quickly was when we set the cash out to pay the bill.
Once again, zero evidence of anyone (restaurant manager) walking around with the appearance of checking on staff and customers.
I did submit an email to them detailing our prior 2 experiences and heard back from the manager who claimed to have been there. BUT, if you're not out in the restaurant and keeping staff in check, as well as checking on customers then WHERE ARE YOU AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING? I don't believe her for a minute that she was there. If she was, she must have been holed up in a room somewhere. A manager on duty is always obvious and if I'm there for 2+ hours and never see you then what's up?
We wanted to make this our regular place but the service just sucks so bad.
As of this trip and one past trip, I've had good service and while it was lunch food, it was good lunch food at a reasonable price. I had gone there this time with a <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Frestaurant.com&s=c5fe485af4df376130bee54f875814d79c4d7913e1258123b1206d2bdbf4873b" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://restaurant.com</a> ticket but they told me as of the 12/1/11, they weren't taking it anymore. No big deal to cancel it. Food came quickly from the kitchen. One item was cold, sent back and came back hot. I'm a fan of french onion soup and I've enjoyed it both times I've had it there. The place wasn't crowded for lunch and they have a lunch menu with a decent selection. I'm assuming they had a reputation in the past (seems that way from the other yelpers) but for lunch, it's easy in and out and not loud even though there is a bar next to the main dining areas.
Review Source:The one star reviews of this place aren't deserved...I really wouldn't come here expecting a great sit-down dining experience, it's more of a "hang out at the bar" place, and on that level it very much succeeds. The appetizers are good, drinks reasonably priced, and the bartenders are very cool. It's definitely an older crowd, nothing wrong with THAT! I had a really good time......
Review Source:I'm sorry, but this place is not a good choice for a dine-in restaurant. I'm sure it's good to grab drinks or just to hang, but for an actual sit-down meal it is awful. The food is really mediocre/blah and the service leaves a lot to be desired as well. I've been here twice and I was hoping the first time was a fluke thing so I gave it a second chance, but.. nope.
