This was the second time we were there in several months and the experience was truly dismal. What are these people thinking serving that kinda food. The Sampler Platter is a joke!!! Four fried pickles, two potato pancakes(awful...tasteless) frozen fried cheese nuggets, two potato Pirogi's ( bland and flavorless is an understatement) all for $12.95. The presentation was the best...a platter with four or five cocktail napkins. The lentil soup was slightly above average would have been better hotter. The salad is amazing with their house dressing give them that!!! The reason we went with appetizers this time was because we were so disappointed with there main courses the last time we were there. Stick to the German beer in this place its the only thing that does not disappoint. The East Side restaurant in New Britain and The Heidelberg Restaurant in Brookfield do a far better job than any of the German restaurants in the Springfield area.
Review Source:Plenty to like at the Munich Haus, starting with the food itself. Â About as true and authentic as you can get. Many items, including the sausages are made right in house. Â Very reasonable prices. Â Well trained, properly outfitted waitstaff. Â
There are a great number of events throughout the year. Â All you care to eat sausages out on the deck, The Hops Club beer dinners, Oktoberfest, Christmas celebrations with the Dan Kane singers, etc, etc. Â All in all, the Munich Haus has a lot to offer.
Their newest addition, the outdoor deck is fantastic. Perfect compliment to what's already there. Â Seems to fit perfectly, and not some afterthought. Â
Pick an event, stop in for dinner, go relax out on the deck, whatever you choose you will not be disappointed.
