The bars in downtown Flagstaff are fun if you're in the right frame of mind but if you're in the mood for something off the beaten path, check out the Museum Club.  This place totally reminded me of Double Deuce from that Patrick Swayze movie, Road House - except everyone was totally nice here and there were no underground cowboy gangs, as far as I could tell.

There was a $7 cover charge and a band started at 9:00 pm.  The dance floor is packed with country folk that love to dance.  If you know how to two-step, bring your dancing shoes!  The staff was very friendly.  With a $7 cover, I was hoping there would be a deal on booze but no such luck.  Nonetheless, we had a really great time kicking up our heels at the Museum Club!

Great music and atmosphere! Even if you're not a country fan you will have a great time. Also Friday nights and half pricey whiskey night, yehhhh buddy!

The Museum Club is a great place in Flagstaff to waste the day away off track betting (horses). It's an old log cabin style country bar full of locals.

The Bartenders have been around forever and are fun and friendly. There is a beat down patio in the back where people used to play horseshoes but now I think it is mainly reserved for smokers. Cheap beer, and a dance floor for night time honky tonk. What more can you ask for?

One of our old family stomping grounds. Which member of my family has not wobbled out of this establishment (lol). I remember back in the day the female siblings were frequent Zoo (the nickname) club membership holders for a long time (haha).

We stopped in for a couple of beverages last night. The Zoo on Wednesday nights had 10 cent beer from the tap. 10 cent Pabst Blue Ribbon beer to be exact and $2 any mix drink. I ordered my usual Washington Apple which was really good. The very happy bartender served up a nice elixir.

I noticed the Zoo hasn't change much over the past 20 years. College crowds during the week and the older folks come out on the weeknights. It is a local favorite if you like country music and live bands. I was not much of a Zoo-er in my day, I was afraid of running into family. Who wants to drink with family when you drink because of them (just kidding). I was never into country music or two-stepping.

Good band, cheap cover and drinks. Very cool place. Dance floor was a little small and old, but added character.

We were there on a Saturday afternoon.  Very cool neighborhood vibe at that time of day.  Sounds like the atmosphere changes according to the time of day and day of the week, so can't speak for the nighttime feel of the place, but if you want a cool one late in the afternoon, this is a very relaxing yet fun place.

The Zoo is always a good time.  Its a must see for tourists and a place that locals should definitely try out.  It is a country bar (except for Wednesday night when it's a college bar due to their dime beers).

I have travelled all over the country and gone to tons of country bars.  The two-stepping at the Museum Club is by far the best I have seen.  Dancing is best on Friday and Saturday when the place isn't quite as packed as Wednesday.

The Museum Club, this log cabin was a Hot-spot for locals & tourists alike.

Country Music & Southern Rock until midnight, then the Thump Thump of House Music / Rap begins.

As a touring Band, we were unaware of the late night metamorphosis, the whole crowd changed and the club turns into a Teen Club complete with No Alcohol Served.

During this change over was when I noticed the Spiritual presents within this historic location.

You never know who may stop in at the Museum Club as this is right on Route 66,  this road has been known as the Mother Road, heavily traveled over the years from Chicago to Los Angeles.

About an hour ride to the Grand Canyon scenic Southern Rim Views.

    My visit was in 1992

Came through Flagstaff in May and made sure to check out this club. It was a Saturday and Nick Nicholson was playing live. Really great band, so the place was packed! The tricky part about the Museum Club is the small dance floor and the tree that is in the middle (and probably supporting the roof). It's an obstacle for sure. Line dancers are constantly getting bumped by two-steppers. Great bar service and they have food too. Smoking outside in a nice patio area, heavy on the locals. Check it out!
