This bar used to be such a fun place to go, but lately they have gone downhill. They lost a lot of business from myself and a large group of my friends. We have spent many nights in the Green Room and have also spent a lot of money. Last night was Electric Kingdom (which is supposed to be an EDM kind of night but instead all we heard the first hour that we were there were remixes of terrible 80's sounds. The DJs are terrible.) We ended up going in early, paid our $5 cover charge, bought drinks and shots, tipped our two face painters, danced a little and decided to leave and come back later in the night. We were stamped with the "official" stamp by the dumb door girl and off we went.
0130 am we decide to go back and finish off the night...we go to the bouncer with our stamps ready to be looked at and immediately he waves us off and says, you can't come in. That stamp was stolen 4 hours ago, bye. My friend had a receipt to prove that we were there that night, he didn't care. We went to another bouncer and did the same thing and he said sarcastically, "Ooooo it's so amazing that you have a receipt, that doesn't matter, you need to leave". I'm sorry but you would think that local people would be treated better, especially when they have been to the establishment a hundred times. Of course the bouncers don't know this, nor do they care, but at 0130 AM when the bar was about to close???? You would think we would have been let in... We were all completely butt hurt at the fact that we spent so much time and money there and yet...they were complete assholes about the entire STAMP problem for a measly $5 . I also was talking to another patron who was outside who had the "approved" stamp and he wasn't allowed in because it was faded. Hmm....shitty stamp ink? dancing and sweating? Could the ink have.... RUBBED OFF?? They were going to make him pay another $5 to enter. He had done the face painting also so obviously he was there. Maybe the girl guarding the stamp should have been paying more attention to her VERY important job and this whole experience would have been avoided.
They were rude and lost business from all of us. I will not be back.
This place has lost its charm and it's smelly, grungy, nastiness can't be glossed over any longer for me.
Found a new bar to go to for dancing and they have a much better atmosphere, drink specials, bartenders, and music. Monsoons has recently upped the ante and is now a dance spot on the weekends. We spent the majority of our evening there in between this tanking establishment. Thank the dancing gods for a new spot!
